Agreed, put the ballast closer to the center of the car. Back seat area is okay.

And if you can get more camber that would be a good thing.

Hey guys, I was wondering if anyone can school me on endlink preload. I just installed RSR Sports-i coilovers and love the handling it gives me. It would handle great UNTIL a certain point when traction control would kick in for seemingly no reason (I am certain the car had tons of grip remaining). I am guessing that the front sway bars are being preloaded and are causing trouble. Is there any way to tell for sure if this is the problem?

I might have not torqued the endlink correctly. I used a torque wrench, but I didn't have any way to hold the nut while I turned.

If it helps any, this is my sway bar with the car wheel turned into the car:

Hey CSG and RCE
Here is my last alignment. I have driven 1500 miles since then and am getting excessive wear / feathering on the inside of my front tires (MPSS). The car is mainly a daily driver with some auto-x / back roads. Pedders top hats and stock subaru camber, I installed myself. Everything is tight, solid. This was my second alignment at that shop (different tech) and I am still getting the wear. With the stock camber I was wearing away the outside of my tires in 5000 miles. Is my current camber too much for a daily? If so what should I take out, the top hats or the stock camber bolts? Is it possible the techs / machine were off? Thinking of trying another shop. I like the way the car reacts with neg. front camber and don't want to go back to stock. Thanks.

Inside wear is normal for negative camber. It's very strange that you have negative toe on one rear wheel and positive on the other; personally I would reject this alignment when picking up the car and request a re-alignment immediately. The front camber is also asymmetric — did you ask them to do that, or did they not bother making it more even?

What alignment specs did you ask them to do though?

All I had them do was zero my toe since I did the camber bolt and top hat install myself.

Has your car ever been in an accident?

How many miles on your car?

Do you know anyone near you with a set of toe plates?

Sorry, didn't see your reply until today. Hit new posts everyday but didn't come up.

No accidents

43000 km (26700 miles)

Nope.

Pulled my subaru camber bolts (back to stock), after some reading on NAISOC, leaving only the Pedders top hats. Had the car on an alignment rack today (different garage). Toe was -.10 deg during my tire wear at -2.5 deg front camber. Now at -1.2 and -1.5 front camber. Can now feel the front tires rolling deeper into their contact patch in turns (confirmed this with non- contact thermometer) and more even temp. across the tire on the straights. -2.5 was just too much for a daily driver, abrasive roads and occasional back road banditry.

How are the Blitz ZZ-R coilovers? Mainly for daily driving. Are they great in their price range or just comparable?

Don't know much about them.

It's tough sometimes because a lot of the advertising jargon is not really the important information.

Thanks. What would you recommend for mainly daily driving in that price range?

I have a question regarding rear toe. How much toe in is too much?

I had a shop do the alignment and requested 1/15 toe in on the rear, but it appears they misunderstood my request and adjusted each wheel to 1/16 toe in. Should I be concerned?

This is my DD, with 1 or 2 light Track sessions a year. 20,000km annually. RCE yellows, stock struts.

Sorry missed this!

For coilovers around $1k, Bilstein B14.

A little over $1k is Bilstein B6 dampers + RCE Yellow springs. Not coilovers but really nice for a DD.

If you can stretch to $1500, RCE SS1 coilovers.
