The verus camber plates I bought were for stock suspension. I don't think those were compatible with the different top spring perch of ohlins. So more an issue of me having the incorrect part rather than the Verus plate being defective design wise.

I had Verus plates designed for stock struts on stock struts and they hit. I have Verus plates on my T2's which take the same setup as the stock struts and they also hit

Do you have any spring noises from the contact?

Thinking about this more. When I removed the Verus Camber plates originally off the stock suspension. There was no visual damage to the underside when I moved to the Ohlins strut. I believe my issue is more serious which is specific to the Ohlin top spring perch and Verus Camber plate for stock.

Little bit. I just live with it.

I know the KW V1 and V3 can use the stock top hat for reference.

Here is the bushing chart for the CasCam plate from Race Engineering.

Had another great track with turn2. super low turn out because it was raining in the morning. so they converted the day to an open lapping day and I ended up going through twice as much fuel as normal
Ohlins coilovers: I went with 5 front 5 rear for rebound adjustment. Car felt great and a lot less body roll in the corners. With the setting I went with the car felt a bit more oversteery then I remember with stock. I may soft up the rear a few clicks.

Still working on my heel-top during the raining sessions. I really want to adjust my brake pedal. But I cant break that damn locking nut on the pedal assembly. I think IM doing something wrong. If anyone has adjust their brake pedal please leave some comments. What size/tool are you using to brake that lock nut. any techniques you used? My attempts to un do this lock nut has resulted in nothing but some slight stripping of the nut lol.

Ohlins Track day Review

So I have now 2 track days under my belt with the Ohlins plus a decent amount of street miles. So I thought Id update my review now that I have experience. My review of Ohlins BRZ coilovers SUS MP21

Street:
Ohlins ride well on the street. There is some NVH trade off compared to the stock suspension.(I think mostly due to Camber plates) Also on full soft or close to full soft(3-4 clicks away) I notice quite a bit of bounciness(poor rebound). I would never really use these settings because of the bounciness. Ride hide adjust ability is not too bad but does require wheels off. I am happy with height adjustability. But note this kit doesn't have the same range as others. I run -10mm compared to stock tS and the car is still street able and able to handle most Seattle city streets with only minor precautions.

Track:
The car body roll is much reduced on the track and and the simple 1 way adjustability is really great for a track/suspension noob like my self. Being able to change just one knob between sessions and go out on track and feel the cars handling characteristics change is an amazing learning tool(obviously you've lost ability to fine tune). I have been very happy with track performance as the car handling feels great and with the simple adjustability I noted about I can dial in/out oversteer or understeer as I desire. Very happy with my setup.

Another fun day at the ridge. As I spoken about before I've add issues with my heel-toe is deep braking. Well its finally been resolved!
I added clutch and brake pedal covers and SS brake lines. Now heel-toeing is easy as pie even very deep in the brakes. So happy to resolve this. Spent the morning playing with different setting on my coilovers which was a learning experience and at the end of the day(last 3 sessions) I was really happy with settings I landed on. Also another tS owner was there. We did a lot of tandem driving on the track which was super fun and very rare to see two tS together on the track.

Issues arise post track day

My original edelbrock bypass valve finally failed(3 screw version) driving home from the track. CEL came on and fuel trims where crazy high. Purchased the new bypass valve.

Also noticed an exhaust leak during my last engine oil, trans oil, diff oil change. The donut on my JDL FP pipe had failed. During the removal of the JDL FP one of the nuts that tighten it down to the OEM OP was really stuck on there. It finally gave way but the bolt was cross threaded and unusable so now have to order a new OP.

Went ahead a bought a Tomei OP and I am getting coated to reduce heat transfer.

Dropping off the car this week at drift-office for the Tomei OP install and Bypass install. Hoping to be up and running ASAP and back at the track

Pick up the car today from drift-office. Had the updated bypass installed, Tomei OP installed, and the latest drift-office tune. The latest tune is a big improvement on throttle tip and low/medium load scenarios. That was real nice. stock FP is back on and now my car is too quiet... Looking to hit up PIR next Friday.

Tomei OP coated:

Got the car detailed as it needed a deep cleaning. Looking forward to upcoming track days. Sept 4 & 5. Also upgraded my front rotors to DBA 4000 T3. My stock was badly warped from usage. Still really enjoying the updated tune from Drift-office.

Fresh out the Detail:

Update:
Did two more trackdays here which I think will be my last days this season. On my last day got a new personal best of 2:05.54 on my advan V105 tw240 tire. Happened to get my best time on a rainy day that dried up for some fast sessions in the afternoon. In the rain I was enjoying some drifting lol Car is just over 16k miles and is due for oil, trans, diff change. some photos below

In other fun news I am getting my 3 season wheels color changed. Currently they are black but I am changing them to bronze. Excited to see them when the powder coating is finished. I will update some photos then. I am also doing a bit of a custom exhaust setup. Since picking up the GTI as a daily I wanted to tune my exhaust a bit more on the aggressive side. So I took off my Fujitsubo exhaust axleback and picked up a nameless axleback. I am also adding a muffler to the mid pipe to tame it just a bit. hopefully this custom setup is just the right level of loud. I know now why valved exhaust are so nice.
