i think ill just order the block and have a performance shop put it in for me and rebuild the tranny i guess. probably be cheaper than what the dealership is quoting me at the moment.

Whats the quote?? Your cheapest option is to buy a used engine from a wreak BRZ (and tranny if you need it) Then pay a local mom and pa shop to install it.

yeah most likely ill need it it was misshifted going 140 from 6th to 2nd to im pretty sure it will need one but i just wanna find a good performance shop to get it diagnosed and fixed

does our car even go up to 140? lol. I don't understand why you would be moving your shifter anywhere near 2nd gear at that speed either lol

btw, judging from your name and your speeds, I suggest you calm it down before you end up in a ditch. consider yourself lucky that all you got was a blown engine this time around.

How does that happen?

Putting the shifter into 2nd gear at 140 is not a mistake you can realistcally make. You have to, literally, FORCE the shifter into 2nd and most likely your transmission would have already failed by the time you let your clutch out.

i didn't blow it obviously it was my ex and yes that car definitely goes that fast he was trying to downshift and shifted into 2nd instead of 4th point being hes a dumbass and blew my motor.

But adding tot he thread, what kind of price is considered reasonable to rebuild an engine if ~$9000 is a bit? Question I'm asking is because i'll be supercharging soon, and the thought of my engine blowing has crossed my mind, but I'm not going for anything past CARB tune anyways.
