be happy with the gearing, I cam from driving an S2000(which i still have), i find myself a lot cruising on the highway in 5th gear, just because it feels natural to me, the S was geared very low compared to this car

stereo install
It took 3 days in the garage, but everything is in and sounding great. I did the dash and doors, and didn't worry about the backs.
Infinity Kappa 3-way Coaxials in the doors Infinity Kappa 2-way coaxials for the dash. I cut the mounts off the factory speakers and attached them to the Kappas for easy mounting. I could have made some baskets for these, but I'll leave the midbass to the 6.5"s in the doors. The sub box is carpeted now and the JL 10W3 is pounding. It all powered by an Alpine MRX-V70. I really wanted to get this under the seat, but it wasn't going to fit. Maybe a PDX series would have fit, but probably not. Anyway, the only other logical place was on the roof of the trunk. It's all fed from an Alpine INE-S920HD I haven't gotten too much chance to play with the EQ yet, but the system already sounds fantastic. I'm not exactly an audiophile and usually those types of conversations get old pretty quickly to me. I've always been a coaxial guy, and haven't bothered with separates, active crossovers, etc. The important thing is that it sounds great to you. |
