Got the P0172 and P1170 twice in a month now. All the same symptoms of everyone else. Car was sluggish, felt like it retarded all timing and threw a lot of fuel at it. Cleared the codes, went back to normal... guess it's time to clean the MAF.

Talked to Jackson Racing a while back about this issue - they said clean MAF and try to keep the harness extension away from the alternator, that it can cause interference.

Just in case - has anyone found the part #s for the MAF o-rings? Where do you order them from? I fear mine may get damaged when removed.

Now I don't need it because it's bad for the car, or it doesn't do good nor bad just pretty much waste if money or its optional for track guys?

I don't track the car but i do take it to canyons once in a while and like to push it above 6k rpms.

I'm saying it is not needed/required with our supercharger system.

There are plenty of guys running them. When done correctly, it is not a bad thing in the system. On our end though, we see a lot of people that have problems and then call us with oil everywhere in their system. I am not sure WHAT they are doing, but it is a common tech call.

Also, we just ran the SCCA National Championship Runoffs at Daytona with our supercharged FR-S. We did not run a catch can.

I am thinking of going with the Jackson racing carb kit with the oil cooler. I am also thinking of upgrading to sticky 215 tires (zii starspecs, Rs3's, re-71, ect..) My question is...will I have traction issues with 215 tires, or should I upgrade to wider wheels and tires? I will mostly be driving in the street with occasional HPDE track days.

Traction will depend on the conditions you're driving in. With stock tires, 1st gear will spin unless you're on a very clean surface.

Let us know when you're ready for a kit! We can make a package with some wheels and tires; most people that are boosted upgrade to something a bit wider, both on the wheel and tire end.

We had the opportunity to tune with our Flash & Go Tune on another Jackson Kit with only one part being different between the two cars. Can you guess what caused the power loss above 6200 RPM on both E85 and 91 octane?

Cheers,
William Knose

We're looking more at a particular aftermarket modification, not a mechanical or electrical problem.

Sincerely,

Almost looks like you are running out of fuel on e85. Port fuel injectors?
