I'm trying to figure out what's going on with the top of your box. It's kind of blowing my mind. It's like an intake...within an intake?

Just took it for a ride. I love the sound and it seems as if there's better throttle response. Only thing was that when I started the install my gas was at just under a quarter, when I was done and turned on the car it was asking for gas lol

Is anyone else worried about the wire for the MAF being awfully close to the belt?

To validate this post as being worthy in a feedback thread I will say this: I was just doing my install and I think the MAF wire is awfully close to the belt. There.

I was able to cut some of the electrical tape with the original clip on it, and I pretty much slid the clip further down towards the engine and just placed the clip back in the hole. Hmmm, I hope this helps but I also worried at first :/

No that helps a LOT. Sorry I was probably just really grumpy about it because I had such a pain installing it due to limited tools/light at the moment.

Things I can say about this intake/airaid/AJ USA so far...

1. I really liked my experience with AJ USA, Airaid is lucky to have a company such as this selling their products. It definitely helps for airaid's image.

2. The intake seems very well built and quite thought out. Great engineering by airaid. I've never had an intake in my own car before but did installs for friends many times and I've never seen an intake that fits quite as well as this one.

3. With number 2 out of the way, I must stress that even if you aren't new to intakes I'd take a good look at the instructions. I was caught off guard by the small amount of OEM hardware that gets reused by the airaid intake. To me this is a good sign, shows they didn't just compromise and stick with OEM bolt sizes to make a cheaper intake.

4. Didn't get much of a chance to try it out, just a compulsory "new mod" jaunt. I didn't notice much of a difference but tomorrow's 16 mile drive to and from work should give me a better idea of how I like it.

5. The $50 rebate requires you to mail in both UPC codes...Reasonable....then Airaid goes ahead and offers a free gift (mystery to you non-buyers!!) which sounds great till you realize the gift also requires UPC labels....maybe I can just send them both in together?

6. If you have any back pains either take it slow or lift the car a bit if you can do it safely. Boy I'm gonna sleep good tonight. That low engine is great for performance but sure is a pain in my back now.

Here's a terrible picture just to prove I got 'er done! Ziptie was cut since then.

I agree, mine was actually hitting the belt when I turned the car on. I zipped tight it. It doesn't seem to be as close anymore. Definitely sounded like crickets at first, then I noticed the wire. When I moved it the noise stopped. But that's for another thread, as a potential reason.
