Nobody said ivermectin didn't have an application. Musechaser you love to disagree with me.

People are free to jump off cliffs if they want to. Except jumping off cliffs doesn't inadvertently drag others down with you. So, let's not play with words and ambiguity. I wouldn't use crab lice medicine, disinfectant, bleach or any such product for anything other than if it's clinically proven, tested and safe to use. That's the argument against the vaccines for many of them too, ironically.

I really don't. In general, I dislike all manner of conflict and tend to avoid it. If I misunderstood your post re/ the possible uses of ivermectin, then I guess that's on me. When you typed, "...possibly believing it helps covid 19," I took that to mean that was contrary to your belief. That's all. If that is incorrect, then I stand corrected. I just wanted to contribute the fact that ivermectin may, indeed, have some use to the thread.

I guess I'm just a little sensitized to the running undercurrent that one must agree wholeheartedly with certain opinions, and the only possible reasons for seeing things differently are an extreme lack of intelligence, total ignorance, or willful designs towards manslaughter. You have NOT been as guilty of that assertion near as much as several other posters, and although, yes, you and I have disagreed on a couple topics over the years, I appreciate your views and the "olive branch" you extended earlier re/ us probably getting along over a beer and some jazz discussions. I agree, and thank you. Heck, when the border restrictions loosen up, maybe we can even make that a reality.

No, they are not, but when epithets like "moron," "F#$@ you," and statements indicating no desire for "comity" with those that don't see eye to eye with someone are made (to be clear, NOT made by wbradley), then yes, further discussion with said people are fruitless and, to be honest, undeserved.

Man, do I long for a friendly beer (and maybe nice select single malt scotch) at, say, KBC. Great Scotch selection, nice folks, and some decent ale offerings.

@wbradley .. how far are you from Kingston?

I'm in TO.

Ivermectin, just to be clear, is a drug used to treat lice infestation.

Kingston is a nice town and at least 2 hours east of Toronto if not 3.. Check out Boldt castle on Hart Island while in the area at Gananoque. It was built by the man who also built the original Ritz Carleton in NYC.

Hey, I'd be for a large social gathering when the green light is up. Americans can travel here if double vaxxed but we can't travel there for at least another month. Haven't been to the Anchor Pub in Buffalo for years. It was a good spot for local Jazz. It' ain't Iridium, but hey... Buffalo always looks as though is has been evacuated.

37 known COVID patients in our 220ish inpatient bed hospital. Five in the ER this morning. Five unvaccinated in the ICU. 4/5 of those are in their 40’s. Just saying.

Ivermectin in lotion or shampoo form is used to treat lice infestations topically. The only other approved use in humans is in treating intestinal parasites. But, if you think you may need de-worming consult your doctor first.

It's incredible so see stories of people who won't take a vaccine that is approved for use in humans running down to a feed store, buying a medication intended for 1000+ pound farm animals and taking it for a disease that might very well have been prevented (or at least moderated) by a simple, cost-free, injection or two. It's hard to know whether to laugh or cry.

Points that would lead one to believe that one would be open to, for instance, exploring new uses for ivermectin that have showed and continue to show efficacy in a large number of admittedly small studies so far.

Anyone who spent much time on shore leave is familiar with these ointments. Hey, if it prevents eggs hatching, it's gotta work, right?

No matter how one polishes and varnishes it, it’s hard to make this sound like anything but desperately blindered and ignorant.

Our health system held a vaccination clinic for "first time vaccinations" on Friday for employees. I'm told they had to run later than planned because of the turnout.

The three employees in my direct staff that had not been vaccinated got their first shot. My staff has all had at least one shot now.
