MD Emissions with UEL catless headers
I'm looking to get a UEL catless headers, but I'm concern that it won't pass the emissions test, Anybody has experience with this topic? would a tune also mess with the emissions test?

It's based on OBD so if you remove the header cat, there will be a CEL from the O2 sensor. You can tune the car in such a way that this goes away and throws a "not ready" signal, which in VA you are allowed 1 and can still pass the test. I think this will be the case for MD but I can't verify.
Additionally, as long as you don't remove the front pipe cat, you'll likely pass a visual inspection since the header cat is hidden under a skid plate. Most people aren't going to bother lifting the car and removing that or they won't even know there should be a second cat there. I would assume you'll probably fail an emissions sniffer test like the VA rapidpass ones. |

You’ll pass as long as there’s no cel. Just find a decent tuner

Same question here.
I just decided to change my registration from NJ to MD. I got catless header and front pipe. The resonator on my HKS front pipe looks similar to a cat which is kinda tricky in a visual inspection. I have passed the inspection in NJ and PA with this setup and 1 signal ignored because not catless header (CEL has been tuned off).

I've always passed as long as I have no CEL (including long term codes that aren't throwing the light atm)
