Camber plates with stock struts

Is the OEM conical washer required when using the stock spring perch with camber plates? (in my case it's Beatrush)

I've got conflicting answers in my research. The stock spring perch is supposed to have a welded-in washer therefore negating the GD style washer. BUT, some are saying that the washer helps with binding/clunking and relieves stress on the pillowball.

So, what's the consensus out there? I'd rather not raise my height by 5mm if I don't need the washer.

Alright since no one replied, I got off my lazy ass to find out myself.

For anyone who comes across this in the future, the answer is no. There is no need for a conical washer with the stock spring perch.

Still on the topic of camber plates with stock struts... I switched to Raceseng because the Beatrush plates raised the ride height too much.

Here's where I encountered an issue. I was unable to increase camber beyond two markings on the plate, and I had no idea why.
Then I played around with the other plate and discovered the reason...

Because the OEM-sized spring perch is 90mm, it's so wide that it interferes with the strut tower bolt. This issue would never occur with coilovers, because they would have smaller spring perches.
After messing around with it, I found that I was able to increase my camber range at the expense of caster. By moving the plate towards the front (therefore decreasing caster), the strut tower bolt position gives more room for the perch to swing back.

My camber setting until I get an alignment:

And here's how much clearance is between the strut tower bolt and the spring perch. I am debating just throwing in the towel and going back to coils, but we'll see how this setup plays out.

I measured the height from ground to fender before and after: 654mm with OEM top hats, 655mm with the raceseng plates, so my ride height remained unchanged.

Overall I'm quite happy with the plates, they gave me an acceptable camber range (although I did have maxed out OEM camber bolts as well), they're well crafted and ride quite nicely.
I hope this will be useful for anyone looking to use the Raceseng cascam with OEM sized spring setups.

I had the same issue. The bolts are too long. Give them a call. The wonderful fellas at Raceng will get you the proper length bolts.

Yup, you got sent the wrong length bolts, mine are barely protruding out the bottom (probably less than two threads) and I have no problem going all the way to maximum negative on my cascam's. (Also on stock springs and dampers)

Call Raceseng.

Edit: Or if you're impatient and have a grinder or hacksaw/file...

Look up at post #2, the distance between the camber plate (which is where it sits in the strut tower) and where the spring is located. The stock top mounts allow the spring perch, and therefore the spring to nestle up inside the strut tower better giving you the stock ride height. The Beatrush design pushes the spring away from the car. It's a simple cost effective design that isn't a problem if you're pairing it with a lowering spring/coilover.

Raceseng has a custom spring perch and spring perch bushing to give their setup near OEM ride height. (Just one reason their setup is $100+ more expensive than others)

(coincidentally, OP can see in the below picture that he was given the wrong length of screw)

Basically what @strat61caster said, the beatrush has a low mount design which is fine if you're running height-adjustable coilovers but not great with the OEM spring perch. Raceseng is also a low-mount design but their own spring perch minimizes the stack height distance, resulting in no ride height change.

I've contacted Jarrett for the shorter bolts, thanks guys! That should've been the first thing I thought of.

Does anyone know if the Raceseng spring perch will work with other camber plates? The spring perch and bushing are available to purchase separately on their site.

I'm not sure if the Raceseng bushing will fit into another camber plate, however, I don't see why you couldn't use their low profile spring perch with an oem style conical washer.

Sorry to resurrect an old thread, but I'm currently dealing with this issue too.

Did you ever figure this out?

I've got RCE camber plates on my SACHS coilovers, but they use the OE spring perches. With my fronts as low as they can go it's still sitting fairly high, because of how tall the OE spring perch is versus an aftermarket perch.

I don't want to go much lower, only about another 1/2", but that won't happen with the OE spring perches.

I ended up just buying the Raceseng cascam plates so I'm not sure. You could buy the perches and if they don't fit, return them?
