Lost a Taillight Nut; Part Number/Replacement?

Hi there everybody,

I recently went back to my stock taillights, and I accidentally dropped one of the 4 nuts into the oblivion that is my trunk. I know that it required an 8mm wrench to remove/put back on. Is it as simple as going to Home Depot and picking up an 8mm nut? Will the thread pitch be right?

I tried my best to search and look online for a part number, but I got nowhere. Any help and assistance will be greatly appreciated.

I am not very savvy with how nuts and bolts work, I am not ashamed to admit.

Thanks everybody!

An 8mm nut would mean that the thread diameter was 8mm, not the wrench size.

If it's 8mm across the flats, it's likely an M5 nut with a .8mm pitch. Just a hunch, but I'd try to find one of those at a hardware store.
