We had to change course over the actual implementation of the piece. This was due to the cost required to print the piece and the safety of it. Glass Nylon is extremely strong, but also expensive and would cost too much for the entire thing to be one piece.
What we're doing instead is to use the same implementation that the factory used. A strong inner structure and a non-weight-bearing outer structure. We're also going to use the inner hardware from the factory riser. This will require disassembling the OEM riser which is extremely easy to do. However, for those too timid, if you send it to me i'll do it myself for you. Another benefit to using the OEM inner hardware is that the body clips and screws will have factory fitment and require no fiddling. This is a huge benefit as you can be assured your wing won't fly off, and be perfectly flush without any gaps. Regarding the stabilizer - We're going to do that after this is test fitted so we can create a wire-frame of the piece. Now the 3D parts are about to head to the printer this morning. |

Got Prototype V2 printed, assembled and installed. Fitment looks great with all the factory hardware attached. Below are some pics and a video.
Two things need to change - The internal structure needs to be taller, and I need a way to secure the front of the riser to the trunk. The green clip is great, but it's not enough. When I slam or even just shut the trunk the risers raise and the green clips release. Either I can some 3M automotive tap and use that as adhesive for the riser to the trunk, or some how replace the green clip with a bolt. Any thoughts? Also, no joke, the trunk feels a lot heavier with the wing on it when I open and close it - I think it's the downforce Seriously though, the added parts do not weigh much- I think there's def increased air resistance when opening and closing. As I walk closer to the car it already looks slightly more aggressive - But it's subtle and not overwhelming or over the top. VIDEO |

Looking awesome! Eagerly awaiting release. Thanks for the inside rear view pics. I was worried the spoiler would block the rear view even more than the 3rd brake light, but it looks like it's a little below the 3rd brake light, so it's not too bad.

Once you've got the final forms and you're producing them, what are your plans as far as finishing is concerned? Going to sand them down so they're smooth, any paint options? I'd think it'd be cool if you figured out the right satin/flat paint finish to exact match the OEM black on the spoiler body and then paint them that color. Yes - the parts will be sanded and painted. I was thinking to have it match the spoiler like you were saying with that satin black color. As a paid upgrade I'll get it painted in the OEM color of your car - or another color if you're feeling so bold |

Looking at this image it looks like there is a 3M/PPF in the shape of the original base. Is that true? If I would to go with this product (gotta check SCCA rules) I would also consider duplicating that idea to protect the paint from base friction and vibration. Great work! |

The original piece doesn't have any PPF film underneath, and this riser actually has exactly the same footprint as the OEM piece. We got it 3D scanned and then traced the curve exactly. The risers contain foam and rubber underneath to prevent that, but it's a good idea to also perhaps supply paint protection film as well. |
