The final project in my first programming class in high school was to program Pong. The only difficult part was getting the game to keep advancing the routine to move the puck while waiting for input on the paddles. However, that was 25 years ago now and I don't even remember what the programming language was let alone the solution. I want to say it was Student Basic, but that doesn't seem right for some reason...

To an aging, but slightly nerdy guy, it's pretty impressive. He was fooling around on a day off recently and built a controller that aims a cannon at the cursor or some object moving on the screen. The plan was to get it to do the math to calculate the distance to the target, estimate the speed and angular velocity of the target and compute the correct lead and hold over. I want one for my security system. My house will defend itself. It's more than a little scary.

Ya. I high school I got to put holes in punch cards and find the percentage of students that flossed their teeth after 30 seconds of flashing lights and weird noises.
