btw... on my IS300, Snow mode is only if you actually get STUCK in snow... Extremely practical, even if you have the gas pedal to the floor, it'll only give small bits of power and takes you out of pretty much anything real fast.

Those pedals look really well spaced for heel-towing. And I like the idea of this 'Snow' feature. I had to dig myself out of the snow in my 86 so many times (always my fault for drifting through deep snow - it's just too much to resist).

Interesting, it doesn't appear the manual trans has a sport or snow button. It looks blank from what I can tell.

Also, the test-driven real picture shows a bright/metallic shifter surround, but I don't see that same finish on the scan. Could it be the lighting, or are they still fiddling with final interior trims?

If you have no grip (stuck in a snowbank), some traction control systems will not allow you to apply any power. My friend had a camry hybrid and he was stuck in a snowbank once and the undefeatable traction control wouldn't let him do anything, so he had to get towed out. Basically if the car doesn't know you are driving in snow it will think you are constantly in a huge skid and kill all the power. In snow mode it will allow some slippage, but still limit power if you start to really slide.

I'm really excited with this interior. It makes it easy for me to not buy a luxury brand (infiniti/bmw/lexus) and not really miss the amenities because this car seems to have many of them. Still hope there will be a leather option tho, I love my leather

^ im a bit spoiled on leather recently. All my cars before had cloth seats. My current DD has leather and it feels soo good.

For my Rx, iv considered buying a set (x2) of used Brides LoMax for $900 and do a leather upholstery with aftermarket heating element inserts ($300). But I might save that idea for the FRS/BRZ

Ah... that makes sense. Other articles alluded that its based on the IS/ISF platform for automatic transmission.

Hmm, I remember reading that (I think it was in one of the MotoP threads on club4ag) but I didn't know they was serious. Doesn't bother me, just surprised.

So I guess the USB plug on the dash is just USB power then (so you can charge your phone or iPood without a retarded cig lighter)? Or maybe it's an easy way to access OBDII? *shrugs* I declare this to be the mystery USB of doom until we know exactly what it does (or doesn't) do.

That is a thoroughly enjoyable idea you have there WoW. I'm going to see how the stock seats are first as they look fairly supportive but I would love a heating option, I had that in my acura and it was really nice for those cold Connecticut mornings.
