Are you waiting for Turbo?

BRZ 25k will turbo in the future

Now the question is: will you wait for turbo?

I would like to have more power that would be awesome, but I would rather have better fuel economy. If the turbo version has less MPG then for sure I'll be happy with my NA. What do you guys think?

UPDATE: No turbo version ever. Perhaps aftermarket

I'm definitely waiting on if there will be a turbo car. As I planned on adding one to N/A anyways a factory installed option will save me $ in the long run on the car.

I'm not really interested in a turbo version. Maintenance on them gets expensive and I have already blown two turbo subaru motors. I want something more practical money wise. Also gas mileage like you said.

yeah true I didn't even consider the Maintenance, but then again I never had a car with turbo. I don't want to see a turbo version with the same mpg next year :/ perhaps the turbo version is the STi :P

I may be in the minority, but I am happy to be stepping down in horsepower. I've had much faster cars, but I miss my MX-5 the most. IMO (just an opinion) it's more fun to use 9/10ths of a car with lower potential than 5/10ths of a car with higher potential.

I think a turbo version would add 100 to 200 lbs once you put the whole trim package together, and would definitely have stickier tires, potentially bigger brakes, etc. I think the "potential" is too high for the way in which I want to enjoy this simplistic car.

There's also something to be said for NA engines, after having a few FI and NA cars. The linearity and response are better, and modulating power is easier.

I'm going to wait for the turbo model. MPG don't bother me.

Same here.

With the intended use a turbo is just inviting excessive oil temps.

I would love to get 250hp from the car but like I said I much rather have more MPG since I'll be on Premium gas. I would love to have a carbon fiber roof, hood, and front spoiler (STi version?) but not at the cost of MPG if it's turbo'd haha

I'm not waiting around for the turbo. Four or five years from now? Maybe I'll give it a look, but until then I'll be happy with the NA BRZ.

I won't wait either. I think I'll love the non-turbo version just as much, while saving on gas and the maintenance cost.

It won't get the same mpg. I would assume it gets maybe get 19/20 city and 26/27 highway. Also I only got 16ish mpg out of my STI even though it was rated for 18mpg city. Spirited driving in a turbo car really kills your mileage.

I'll probably trade the current model for the turbo whenever it's announced.
