I might not mind a droning if it isn't "tinny" sounding, at about 5-8k Rpms.
I would not enjoy a 2-4k (cruising) constant noise, unless it was lower pitch boxer rumble. All these of course after I can get an estimate of power gains.

Quiet until I open up the throttle. Then a nice loud Look TFO!

I'm sorta picky. I have a tendency to get obsessed when I start a new hobby.
Its right at cruising speed on the freeway. You either have to drive sixty or ninety to avoid it.

A backlog of orders is ok. I am a few weeks out on cash flowski. I'll Google and contact them.

I have contacted a muffler shop with decent reviews on the west side. They have offered (for a fee) to put my BRZ on a lift and demo a few different catback setups with different mufflers. That would be cool , but def impact my budget.
The Perrin resonated catback has very minimal drone. For the price a few shops I know of can get it to you for locally is a decent deal. You can also always upgrade and get their overpipe w/ front pipe (catted or non catted)

Another local company that offers an exhaust is PPE Engineering. Www.ppeengineering.com

My exhaust was free because is was the prototype, but their stuff is well respected in the autox and track community. Whenever somebody checks out the header, the excellent welds are always mentioned.

My car is loud as hell when I step on it.

Ya, its very liveable with just the cat back. Idle isn't too loud with full exhaust, but anything above 3k and below 5 drones pretty loud.
