[QUOTE=ill86;627575]A fine selection.

Thanks for the input. So with that set up, 18x8.5 and 18x9.5 +45, I can run them with the stock suspension with no problems (rub)? And how will it line up, I'm not wanting any poke.

i run 18x8.5 +30 rear, +42 front with 215/40 with some camber, my ride height is pretty low.

i have really grown to enjoy driving my setup, i like the tail happiness of a stiffer / lower ride setup. will only get better with a better alignment, rear control arms and toe arms are on my list next.

Should be spot on.

With a little camber front and rear it will most likely be what you are after. Only gets better with age. :-)

Too many other factors (actual tire width, alignment, etc) to be more precise. There's a little wiggle room, but you're still playing it safe/conservative.

Hi all,
I have purchased some 18 x 9.5 +35 rims and looking to fit very shortly -
I have also got some Eibach Pro Kit springs ready to go for a (hopefully) 1 inch drop all round....
Just wondering on tire sizes which would be suitable to clear guards/fender etc with no rubbing?
I have seen a few setups which have coils and thus clear, but not so sure on springs, thats all...
From reading up, my guess is 235/40/18 all round to be ok,, but just trying to double check before I go ahead!

In my state tto stay legal , your total wheel diameter cannot go increasing by more than 26mm from standard, so the above tire size is what fits the bill here,,,

Many thanks!

That's a difficult front fitment. Going over fender kit? Lots of negative camber?

Would these tires fit on my stock wheels?

Dunlop Wintersport 3Ds, 235/45 17". The stock wheels are 17" but the stock tires are 215/45 17".

Dunlop specs 7.5-9.0" wheels, so in theory the OEM wheels are too narrow.

A better question for the OP is why go wider for winter tires? You want narrower, not wider. 235s on a 7" wheel will be very hard to mount (tire guy may refuse) and will ballon like a mofo.

Maximum tyre width (for rear wheels)

Hey Guys,

I'm thinking of going for a staggered setup on my 86 (tyres only, not wheels).

The rims I like are 18/8.75/35+ (front/rear). I'm getting 235s for the fronts and just want to know how wide I can go for the rear?

Thanks.

depends on how far you're willing to go to make it fit.

http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=24694

You should specify if you want to keep the fenders as they are, or roll them and if you're on stock suspension / springs / coils

Prefer not to touch the fenders. Just want to know how much tyre you can fit in the arch as per stock. I should add that I'm also looking to drop about 1".
