Hello Guillome.
I was considering it because the 2014 model has stiffer front mountings than the 2012 version. Normally the pillowballs also allow camber adjustment on a mcpherson suspension. Alignment is spot on on mine, and I didn't lower the suspension. I was thinking of it because it removes quite a bit of the remaining (already little) 'flex' in the front. Toyota did the same on the rear and changed the shocks as well to make it more 'neutral' at the back. However according some of the test drivers it's not as playful (and dangerous) as the original was. Harder rubber mounts are for example part of the TRD accessories (for stock and 'entry' uprated suspensions, but high end racing shocks normally require pillowballs if I'm not mistaking? I don't want to end up with a car that's a pure track machine as I'm doing .... euhhhh 'fast road'. |

Pillow ball upper mounts do let you adjust camber indeed, but I'd say it's overkill if you're on otherwise stock suspension. The BRZ is my DD as well and I find it stiff enough on the road, so I am not considering switching to go-faster coilvers.
That's why I went the camber bolt way: quite cheap and gives you that extra ~.7° of negative camber without any compromise on the ride quality. For a DD, I'd say -.9° or so is the sweet spot for a responsive front end.

Hello Guillome.
Partially agree with you, but the BRZ has a different suspension setup than the 86. BRZ is stiffer/harder than the 86. Spring rates are not the same. Drive one after the other and you'll feel the difference immediately. Meanwhile I've been testing, and I'm going to keep the rubber top mounts until they're worn out. At that moment I'll see whether going for OEM or harder rubbers (depending on the flexibility -wear&tear-of the entire front at that time) or go for slick looking pillowballs. Well JoeHK, for normal driving, you will not feel any difference say 98% of the time. The 2% when you do feel the tower brace is when you put torsion on the car's body. Typically I'd say when you turn in whilst braking. Keeps the car flatter than without. The more agressive you drive, the more you feel it working. Apart from that technical reason. and at least counting for 50% of the reason why I bought the brace ... for roughly 200€ and 6 nuts, this is the cheapest and easiest bolt-on thing to do to make the engine bay looking quite 'racy'. The thing just looks yummy honestly speaking. It's like food, the taste is important, but you also 'eat' with your eyes ! |

I think that the twins are very picky what gas is concerned. Experienced the crickets every time when visiting a gasstation other then BP, looks like the other gasstations (in my neighborhood) sell cheap "premium" fuel and not real RON98. But luckely after three complete refills with BP98 my crickets are gone everytime. Maybe you guys have better fuel quality than we have in the Netherlands or in the UK? |

... hunting crickets ???
BTW, Shell V-power is not "euro98". And indeed, V-power is different in most of the countries. Euro95 and Euro98 are very precisely described on what they should be. RON is a theoretical value, MON is coming much closer to the true knock resistance. EU95 has RON of 95 minimum to 97.9max, and a MON of minimum 85 EU98 has RON of 98 minimum , but a (MON+RON)/2 value of at least 93 What does that mean : you can't just add some stuff to EU95 to turn it into EU98, but you can turn it into V-power. When you get the knocking, that's when you loose a few%'s of power due to the automatic 'less-pre-advancing' of the ignition. The anti-knock pichs up that sound and starts (should start) protecting the engine. Not sure what happens however when you start chipping the engine's ECU? |

@remme: it's the exit 7 Puurs, from Brussels, you come off the A12, go on the N16 and go left at the first crossing, the carpool is then on the right. Coming from Antwerp, you cross the N16 on to the N17 and the parking is on the right. Coming from Sint-Niklaas it's the exit just before the crosspoint of the A12 (Mechelen, Brussel)
