So I go to turn on the car and this happened….

I’m not too good with electronics. As a matter of fact I’m terrified. Got shocked once as a kid really bad. So anyways, what do you guys think it might be? Thanks for any input.

Your battery is dead.

That is all.

Thank you so much Tcoat. I’ll take the battery to autozone for the swap later today. Thanks again for the quick reply.

Before you buy a new one, investigate why the battery is dead. How old is the battery? Terminals corroded? Was an interior/trunk light on? Did you have an argument with your girlfriend?

I recently looked into it some more and turned out the starter also went bad. Trying to start the car I guess drained the battery. Good news is a had a starter from when I thought I had bad starter. Now I just need to change the starter for sure. I know it is because I use to wack it with a hammer to start it this past week. Check the terminal and they’re good. Nah. I keep all my interior lights of until I need them. What girlfriend?

Girl friends can be draining. Especially when they argue. Glad you got it (the car) fixed.

Before you bury that starter you might want to have it bench tested.

But like ol @Tcoat said, it sure do sound like a weak battery. Have you had it load tested?

Getting shocked as a kid reminds me of the time my father asked me to hold onto the spark plug wire to the gasoline engine of the grain elevator, as he pulled the rope ..... to see if it was getting spark - yep, that happened .... ONCE!
