As long as your motherboard has UEFI and TPM 2.0 you should be fine with Windows 11. Those are the only sticking points I've found. I run W11 Pro on my AMD Ryzen 3900X rig at home and W11 Enterprise on my primary work computer (a SurfaceBook 2) with zero issues.

My home computer has been running it since first open beta, my work laptop for about 6 months (my desktop OS team had to sanitize it for work use first).

Of course your mileage may vary and I have a high tolerance for beta hell pain (I've run beta MS OS since DOS 3.0) but honestly W11 on both devices was no worse than a feature pack install. Frankly I sometimes forget I'm running W11 because once you left justify the task bar you can't really tell the difference unless you REALLY look for it.

Do you notice any benefit in using W11?

Yes, windows search works now. Literally the biggest difference.

Yea that is definitely a difference. If you have an Android phone, the phone link works very well for texting and photo transfers. I also like the window snap feature where you can automatically divide the screen into zones by hovering over what used to be the maximize button in the upper left.

It will also let you run Android apps through virtualization but I haven't tried that yet. My understanding is it works relatively well.

*Can* you put the task bar on the left edge of the screen?
Thought they riveted it to the bottom only this time.
Wouldn't want to live with even less vertical space.

It can still auto-hide

No, it's nailed permanently to the bottom, and MS doesn't plan to change it anytime soon.

I'm personally not a fan of it in any location but the bottom so I forget that's a thing for some folks. @Yoshoobaroo good point, I do have it set to hide, so it doesn't take up any space on my screen.

There are some registry hacks that allow the vertical task bar still, but I bet microsoft will make sure that breaks in a few updates. They seem adamant that Windows' taskbar belongs on the bottom.

I've seen reports that if you do the registry hacks and you move it, the icons don't move with it. It's basically a blank task bar. Since I haven't tried it I can't verify.

They also removed the option to use the "condensed task bar" which was about half size, although I think you can do a registry hack for that as well.

I just unlock the taskbar and drag it to the side...
Why the need for registry hacks?

What is a "condensed" taskbar?

Are you running Windows 11?

Condensed task bar is a Windows 10 option (it may have been called small icons). It is basically half the height of the full one. For example, the right side only shows the date, not the time with the date underneath it. If you do the hack for W11, the time gets cut off at the top and the date at the bottom.
