Question Paint defect or new issue

Hey all! It's been quite a while since I've been active here. I was going to install some new suspension as it's been long overdue, unfortunately with the heat and humidity here in nebraska I missed my window so I decided to do a little underhood cleaning only to find a very interesting area of bubbling paint under my passenger hood hinge.

This is a new one on me but looks to be a defect from paint pooling or something to that effect. I am curious if anyone has seen this on their twin before.

Looks like chemical attack. Clean it real good, treat it and paint.

Agreed, looks like something corrosive got there. I would clean, sand, prime, tape off and use rattle can. Rusteoleum pearl white is actually a very close match for our pearl white and I've used to it touch up spots under the hood. I wouldn't use it on the outside of the car but under hood it's great.

What weird me out the most is that it looks like it was a puddle and id imagine if it was something caustic I'd think that it would be obvious as to where it came from.

Oh well not a big deal, simple enough to fix, just very strange!

WOW! The high heat and humidity in Nebraska strikes again.

Just put a sticker over it, it will be fine. -

Brake fluid spill will do that if left unchecked for too long.

This ^
The majority of the spots I have seen just like that were brake fluid related.

I don't doubt that it could be brake fluid just very strange as it is on the opposite side of all the brake shenanigans going on.

perfect spot to put a 'bleed bottle' while changing fluids or getting the caliper/wrench situated to bleed the brakes on the front passenger corner.

i usually just put stuff on the ground, but i could see someone putting the leaky bottle there

To me it looks like it is a build up under the surface paint and on top of the undercoat. Almost like a bird dropping, well maybe some kind of body adhesive. If you take up a small piece you might be able to determine what it is.

Are any of these the right stuff?

261411 Metallic Pearl Mist (Looks a little too yellow/cream)

https://www.rustoleum.com/product-ca...c-spray-paint/

352721 Matte Pearl White

https://www.rustoleum.com/product-ca...ustom-lacquer/

I was using the search on the Rustoleum site and these were about the closest thing I could find.
