Tomei UEL Headers

I am looking into getting the Tomei UEL Headers. But, the kicker is that I plan on going big turbo in the next year. My question is, will I be able to still run the Tomei UEL Headers with my big turbo? I'm not sure if the headers will fit the big turbo, based off I guess each big turbos sizing is different. I'm not sure, thats why I am asking y'all.

Short answer: No

A header is for NA or supercharged applications. In a turbo setup, you'll need a turbo manifold.

You could like get a gasket and some quarter inch sheet metal and fab out a blank plate and use a vice to drill out the holes for the bolts and just torque the bolts down so you have no exhaust leaks. Then when you’re ready for boost you can take the plate off and throw on your turbo kit.

Okay so it's noted if I run the Tomei UEL Headers, I will have to take it off when I go big turbo. If I wanna do headers now, what should I buy, if I am going big turbo here in the near future soon

Do what I said which I don’t honestly 100% recommend as I don’t know if anyone has done this. Otherwise you just need to wait.

Or you can buy used and sell later so you get most of your money back.

The Ptuning kit uses your existing header in their turbo setup. It is pretty unique tho.

Just wait and don't piss money away

I found no performance gain when I put a Tomei UEL header to replace a catless (punched out) OEM header

I actually reinstalled the OEM header as there was no performance advantage and rhe UEL header was obnoxiously loud

Opinions may vary

What? You're suggesting installing a manifold then blocking it off? Where would the exhaust gasses go?

If you want to do a header before you go turbo, I'd buy a used one and then resell it when you do the turbo kit. You'd lose less money than buying a new header. You'd still need a tune to gain any performance and clear CEL codes which is another added cost.

Or you could just keep the stock header until you get the turbo kit. No sense in doing an install if you know you're going to turn around and take it back off..

Nah you’d block off the turbo exit and mount it as if it were a normal header. There’s probably a lot more to it than that.
