Good memory. True, but raised in San Jose. Left the central valley as an infant. Only remember San Jose.

Still never seen a slide rule.

Edit: which is really odd now that I think about it since my Dad was a math professor.

Figures - he hid it from you, because he didn't want you taking it all apart and oiling it up, to make the slide work faster -

Good morning.

Got to work. When my coworker finally arrived late they were covered in dirt/moss. An old tree had fallen across the road some time after I hade come through. They drug most of it off the road before someone else stopped to help.

I drove my truck today. I almost put my chainsaw in the back. Guess I will tomorrow.

Well, he wasn't too happy when I took the lawn mower apart. It did cut better without a governor.

For those not keeping track, my 86 is in for the recall work, and the dealership uses Enterprise for rental cars, so I ended up with a black 2019 F150 as a rental (it was either that or a Grand Caravan, no thanks).

Pretty nice truck actually other than a couple of things:

It is truck height but no running boards. I've finally mastered crawling in without it being too comical but the first few attempts were amusing.

It has the AutoStart feature which is totally annoying. First, it sounds like a truck every time it restarts after turning off. Not exactly smooth. Second, all the lights in the truck dim every time it does it. Even more annoying, it doesn't turn off consistently. Sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't. And lastly, to disable it, you have to do it every time you start the truck.

And finally, they had a CTS-V in their used lot, and I couldn't convince them to loan that to me instead of them paying for the rental.

That is funny. I bought my Dodge 4 door 4x4 in 2005. My dad bought basically the same truck about a month later, which I now also own. Mine doesn't have the running boards. I didn't want the "old man" boards back then. My dad had the boards put on his. 14 years later, I totally love the boards now.

I hate AutoStart. Being in low cars a lot, it is so annoying when the car next to you starts. Who asked for AutoStart?
