I'm just looking for decent info, and not a load of tripe shouted about by those who know less than 1/10th of fuck all, which most of the posts on this forum seem to be

I burst out laughing reading that...excellent. I think the only way to find the accurate information is to see what they release as specs each car show. The rest is all smoke + mirrors, S.W.A.G from forum members, and misinformation to fuel expectation..hell thats just like my work...
Have to agree that the sheer volume of utter bollocks that comes out from some of them is amazing.
AFAIK:
Its a 2.0L
2+2
Rear wheel drive
and there will be two types one from Toyota ( in europe) and one from Subaru

From what i can gather all the rest is horseshit.

The engine is supposed to be the Boxer one from Subaru but its been totally reengineered less for the mounts by Toyota, so doesnt that make it ..not ..really..a..subaru.. boxer... engine?

Funny thing is it will be shown in production form and half of these guys will go off in a huff because, theres no turbo, they dont like the lights, the spoiler isnt big enough etc etc.

Personally i think it looks nice in both varients for different reasons, I like some of the renders, particularily the different colours of the BRZ ones, that got done and if it looks like that with or without an air intake its all good as far as I am concerned.

Main concern is what rip off price will they try in Europe?

Another from the UK. You'll also find me lurking on the other Toyota UK sites. I've spoken to you before Leeky, on TOC.

I don't post often though. I gave up trying to fit in.

Hope we dont do that to you, am hoping we can keep it a bit sane here. Also hoping to get the drop on them all with pics from Frankfurt show, friend works for Rolls Royce in sales so he will be there even before the press day so might get the scoop on the specs and pics of BRZ and FT86. Have text him and asked him to send them, fingers crossed.

I'm still sold. I still want the Toyota as well. I'm loving the colour... I always love cars with exotic colours. I dye my hair exotic colours for a reason, so I'd love a car which had one too.

From auto express:

"Expected to go on sale in early 2012, it's expected that the car will cost from around £18,000"

Link

I know the RX8 released sub 20k (i think) back in the day, but was never expecting it to happen for this.

I know this is not confirmed, but wow, if it was to happen it would be amazing!

£18000 , if its even close to that it will be amazing. It might even be the end of us paying this ridiculous premium on cars just because we live in Europe . Maybe thats what they are hoping for? It would be an instant seller for sure, assuming its actually half decent in handling and performance.

I`m not going to hold my breath on it but still.......

Well I think £18000 is the literal exchange from the dollar figure that Scion announced I think. It would be tits, however, if it was £18k starting.

Agreed however it wont happen, we have to account for the European location pricing variation cheers easy suckers tax.
Also known as europeans will pay more so charge more than the price in the US.
If it does I`m going 2nd hand 997 instead.

Anyone from the UK looked into the Subaru VIP program? I couldnt see anything outside the U.S. except for the International mountain Biking membership that might qualify. Except thats through affiliate membership in Europe. Just wondered if anyone for the U.K. had enquired with a Scooby dealership?

18k would be fantastic
I assumed ( and am probably correct ) that it would be 25 k aprox

Maybe the Toyota will be cheaper and the BRZ loaded with equipment
