I don't own a set to test with, but that first aid kit is fairly plush, so it'll compress a good amount. You'd have to be stacked up pretty snug under the trunk lid to end up unable to shut it.

Worst-case, you push down and it doesn't latch, open it back up, pull the first aid kit out and wedge it in somewhere accessible and then close the trunk.
