If somebody did this to me, I'd probably key every car parked near me....not really but that's how it would make me feel if I couldn't figure out who did it :/

Sorry to see this bro

I am sorry that happened, and I agree you should go the insurance route.

Side note, I am not sure if this is still the case (been a few years now), but be careful around IV as you need to worry about the local PD as well as CHP. CHP stopped my buddy on the local streets deep in IV and Goleta many times.
I try not to drive in IV, but everytime I've driven there I've been amazed that I didn't walk away with some kind of manslaughter charge: the number of drunk morons flying out from sidewalks between cars on careening longboards, literally falling off bikes in front of you, or otherwise sprinting blindly into the roads is absolutely ridiculous. I think I average about 5mph down streets there and it still feels like a complete clusterfuck.

We have this trouble in Nashville too. I do the 5mph crawl pretty often. Not worth the potential catastrophe of hitting a pedestrian. Just got to be patient and not rush...

IV is a weird place. Where else do pedestrians and bikes just blatantly ignore the laws and yet rule the road?

I generally just go there in the day for lunch!

You should send it in for an insurance claim. The cost of the paint will be expensive with labor, find a Vinyl Wrapping shop and have them wrap the car making it as custom as you want but for nearly half the price. If you go to the right place. I had the same thing happen to me and I'm currently getting the entire car wrapped aztec bronze with carbon fiber accents. And I'm making money

Not to mention the drunk assholes who pry off car mirrors and kick cars just for the hell of it.. plus the risk of having bicyclists / skateboarders bump into the car on accident AND parallel parking bumper collisions.

There's this first year guy here with a whiteout FRS. He kicks other cars parked on the street and says that his car is much better to impress a drunk girl that walked with him (who happened to be a friend). Douchebag of the year award goes to...
