Installing Alpena LEDs
Just bought Alpena Flex LEDs for my 2014 BRZ, the goal of putting them in the driver and passenger footwells. The tricky bit is I have an extremely limited (compared to the knowledge on this forum, zero) understanding of vehicle electrics. Is there a simple way to install them? I can deal with messy cords and disguising them but does anyone know of a simple way to install them, preferably without splicing or soldering? I appreciate it greatly!

Wire taps into the correct wire? Dome light wire perhaps?

The easiest thing to do would be to get the wiring harness from the factory footwell illumination kit and hack into the ends of it to splice in your LEDs. That wiring harness is direct plug and play. It attaches in-line to the clock connection behind the head unit.

Quote:
1. Disconnect battery. 2. Remove bezel around stereo (it pulls off, but the trim tool makes it easier). 3. Remove stereo head unit (4 bolts and it pulls right out). 4. Disconnect stereo connections. 5. Plug the harness in. 6. Fish the harness wires behind the dash. 7. Stick the lights to the underside of the dash and connect them to the harness. 8. Put the stereo back where you found it. The kit comes with an instruction sheet that has pictures (attached). Mods don't get much easier. |
