How much you suggest?

I forgot to say that I have OEM sway bars, but front and rear cusco tower bar (if this may affect in someway)

So I autocrossed yesterday with my new suspension, Bilstein B8 shocks with RCE Tarmac springs. Front camber is 0 and the rear is -1.8-2.0 with stock wheels and rubber.

I noticed a significant amount of understeer; I believe a decent amount of that is due to no camber in the front. This leads me to two questions for you guys.

1) I daily drive this car in addition to autocross; what is a good compromise in terms of front camber to be decent at both driving aspects?

2) How much will adding negative camber to the front reduce oversteer / increase oversteer?

Thanks in advance!

0 camber is no bueno.

1. You could easily go -1.5 to -2.0 up front without worrying about tire wear depending on your commute, especially with very little or no toe. Think about how much your rear has right now/from the factory, and the front needs it even more. I'd expect worse and more uneven wear with 0 camber to be honest.

2. The change will be pretty huge. You need that camber bad!

Just to add on to this, I've been running 245 ZIIs this season on maxed out OEM camber bolts (about -1.3 I believe) and also daily drive the tires on a pretty substantial commute. It only took a couple of events before I was seeing significant wear on the outer edge of the front tires. I just ordered HVT camber plates because it just wears way too fast without enough camber up front.

I'd like to add that in street driving, running your tires with low air pressure will have a huge effect on treadwear, especially if you do a lot of highway driving. Check your air pressure often!

newbie question @Racecomp Engineering @CSG Mike
after I installed my coilovers, I took my car to the alignment shop after I drop the car about 1.5" all around the guy told me I got -2.5 and -2.8 in the rear and around -1.5 and -1.2 at front wheels so I asked him to give me more camber by adjusting the camber plates and I was able to see -3.0 on front L/R afterwards, after I attended the track event I think my ride height dropped a little bit maybe it settled a bit or the camber plates ( since it changed the angle a bit) or the combination of both.. so my question is

Can I raise the car a little bit and if I do, Do I have to take it for another alignment? I assume I might lose some camber in the front but I am looking for 1.5" drop all around and it's almost 2" now

Thanks in advance

Changing camber up front can affect ride height, but it sounds like it was a combination of that and maybe a little spring settling.

As for if you need another alignment after raising it back up a half inch...it depends how anal you are. I'd do it, and I'd get some rear LCAs and sort out your rear camber while you're in there and then I'd be happy.

If you purely lost height, then restoring it ot the height at the time of your alignment will restore the alignment; your alignment changes on a curve based on height, so you're just moving along that curve. Changing cam bolts, arms, camber plate settings, etc will alter that curve.

Great, I will raise it about .5" since it seems like it dropped about .5" or so so hopefully it won't hurt the cambers or toes

thanks

Just use a tape measure to verify toe, and you'll be good to go.
