I quote himing "ANY 370z", so some 370z out there with crazy track suspension mods, Turbo or Stillen Supercharger, whatever forced induction, anti sway bars, some weight reduction etc etc etc will still lost to this s2000 on this specific track and configuration?

Er, what are these wonderful K24s you refer to? The most recent Earthdreams ones have 7.5k fuel cut, and only make 200hp, and that's the highest K24s have ever been allowed to rev.

Not going to start another S2k vs FRS war, there are plenty on here. All that matters at the end of the day is that I enjoy the FRS on a daily basis far more than my S2k.
im not convinced that peak power tells the whole story. how much more tq and hp is it making along the whole power band? i also dont think gears are going to change how fast you are but where youre fast (not saying thats an insignificant mod though). the fact that so many people are loving the frs more than the s2k really cool though.

for me the hardtop is the biggest plus because you can have a trackable car that can still do street duty pretty well. when people actually enjoy it more with that aside, just icing on the cake

Who says factory redline is retained on tuned K24s?

I haven't seen ANY 370Z run faster than a 1:32 at WSIR.

Granted, none of these run NT01 either.

Just from what I've seen no 370z hit lap times as fast as that N/A s2000. I do know there are some running faster (Brian is actually on the top 25 lap times at willow springs I believe, a few 370's are faster than him - but they are running turbos/forced induction with over 420+ whp). I'm just quoting based on what I've seen. And for the record, I don't understand how that s2000 is so fast either, lol. Its running ~210whp. Theoretically the fr-s can achieve 210whp with I/H/E+tune+e85, kind of a stretch but possible. Although the s2000 has better balance so I'm not sure how close the fr-s could get to that time

I find it amazing that the s2000 can get a 1:30 time N/A. Really shows how fast those cars can be.

I think the FR-S has a good shot of getting close to that but not a 1:30 (N/A that is). I'd love to be proved wrong though

EDIT: Also, CSG Mike - it looks like Brian's car got a 1:58 on Buttonwillow (on youtube at least). That's pretty cool as that's only 2 secs. faster than your car and most likely race prepped! So from that it seems like FR-S most likely has the advantage in a tighter track, and s2000 has an advantage at high speed tracks. I can't wait to track my FR-S ... the reason I'm mostly quoting Willow Springs times is just because its the most easily accessible track to me, and I plan on getting a track membership there. Hopefully I can find a way to get our cars around that track even faster (I'll need a lot of driver mod before I get close though ).

D4s is an injection system

VTEC is a variable cam system

Not really related at all....

I'm one of the board members for the S2k Challenge Here's another data point for you; this car is much closer in preparation to the CSG BRZ. This is the CSG S2k (but not driven by me in this video). This car fits into S2k Challenge Street class, while Brian's car is S2k Challenge Mod class.

FULL list of mods:

Oh, I should add, the CSG S2k has a full interior, AC, etc. It's actually HEAVIER than stock due to the roll bar...
