I always preferred the 16 inch wheels. Not sure if I posted a picture here before. Tires are Advan AD08R 205/55, but sidewall is a bit soft. Looking to change them with the Advan A052.

15

I've been running these 15" methods for 3 and a half years. With 215/75 rear and 205/75 front All Terrains. Did small wheelwell trimming at the start and only minor rub at full lock. Anyways.

How’s the driving feel compared to 17s? Depending on sidewall it could be soft.

Well all terrain truck tires have much stiffer walls.
I personally like it.

Pitty they won't fit those that hunt for weight reduction. Rally wheels are strong but heavy. They might fit those wanting to go for smallest winter wheel size though, though not completely, if also wanting to get width down.

We are a cranky lot. Supposedly Volk Racing has a 15" rally wheel that will fit over our stock brakes for crazy people like me that want the lightest.

They even list a 14x6.5 application for our cars. Way too tempted. There are even a few really good tires available that would fit on that wheel. Like the Falken Azenis RT615K+:

why?: if you look downwards in linked page, to Size*Price & Sample Fitment parts, twins listed only for 15", not 14". And from those 15", x6.5" & 7" wide ones (x6" not). As for 14" inch only 4x100 pcd ones available, i guess those might do for MX5?
Also there is note for those 15" ones of sizes that fit ours, that they will be discontinued, once inventory clears. Nice two pics with rally-ish twins on these wheels in car gallery though

I don't think 195 is nearly enough tire for ~2900 pounds, but a 15x7 et35 could tolerate a 245/50 tire. Less than ideal for a number of reasons though...needs another half inch of width, and the aspect ratio is still too short. A 205/60-15 would be the perfect size for a 15x7, but there's virtually no tires worth having in that size. 16 seems to be the magic size for light weight and tire selection..

I swear it was 14" the other day. And while 15×7JJ 5-100 INSET45 is being discontinued supposedly, 15×7JJ 5-100 INSET 35 is not.

You can get Falken Azenis RT615K+ in a 205/50, which has a max load rating of 1279*4= 5,116 lbs. Also Yokohama Advan is size 225/50r15 would do as well.

Both of those are way too short in the sidewall for a 15" wheel. 225/50-16 is what I run, and that's pretty darn close to OEM circumference. A 225/50-15 would look ridiculous; 205 even worse, ignoring the change to your gearing.
