X<4hr drive yes it doubled!
X<1hr street driving.

This is from past 1.5-2 months testing. Helps when you find comfy shoes too!
When I bought the car I did a 6+hr drive (modded suspension and solid motor/trans/diff mounts, so you can imagine my ride is quite a bit stiffer) with no issues, was starting to get a bit uncomfortable towards the end but I attribute that to the rougher ride more than the seat/ seating position).

Guess it varies from people to people but from experience (others and myself) a big part of the lack of comfort after long drives is at least partially due to seating/driving positions (most people think farther, more laid back the better but from what I have seen a tighter, more snug driving position, while weird in the beginning(not used to it yet) provides much better support (lumbar, shoulders, knees, etc.). That is especially true on sports/sportier cars due to the fact the seats themselves are designed for a more aggressive/straight/compact driving position. I.e.: performance oriented seat vs comfort/relaxation oriented seat.

I've driven 10 hours straight in mine. That's as far I care to go in this or any car. It's tolerable. The road noise bothers me more than the ride. If I had been alone, I would have just cranked up the radio. But my wife was along, so we had to talk.

The armrest helps a lot!

My right foot (throttle, LHD) gets tired trying to maintain pressure if it's pointing off at an angle to the right with no support.
Resting the side of my foot against the transmission tunnel gives some friction support and small modulations can be made by rolling left or right.
I have to remember to re-position after braking which I don't always.
The strain makes itself known in fairly short order though.

Kinda funny elaboration. Pedal setups are the same for LHD and RHD..

I've had this problem with every car I've driven and I finally realized it's another effect of being tall. With my legs being bent more than an average driver's, I find at cruising speeds, I have to constantly lift. If I could adjust the pedal force to balance with my foot pressure, man, that would be awesome!

Been threatening to start that project for a few months.

I'm comfortable sitting for long drives, but it IS somewhat noisy. Not really relaxing. But I'm keeping it anyway. P.S. That kneepad on the 14's would be nice. I'd like the armrest too, but I use the plug for navi and cell phone.

One of the best tips I learned at the classroom session of my HPDE class last year was how to adjust the seat back after the legs.

The trick is, with your shoulders all the way back in the seat, you should be able to stretch your arms and just drape your wrists over the top of the steering wheel.

I'm 6'5" so I'll never actually be able to do this without smashing my knees into the steering column but it confirmed another of my goals which is to figure out how to extend the steering column a few inches further.

My only problem is I get pins and needles in my feet when driving for more than 2 hours straight, but nothing a stretch doesn't solve. It might be the car, but I'm willing to bet it's a pre-existing injury in my ankle and back.

I heard the same advice early on and found it really helps when you need to rapidly turn the steering wheel (e.g., countersteer).

On the street, I usually recline the seat back about 1-2 notches from there.

Yeah, this is the position I use on the track (also, one notch forward from fully back on the seat track), but it's too close for daily driving for me.

I've never driven a RHD 86. The geometry of the footwell on the outside may be different than against the tunnel.
I'm slightly apprehensive about telling people that everything they're doing is killing kittens right and left.
