I finally made a decision! I just finalized a deal on a new 2021 Civic Type R.

It's currently going through customs in Maryland and should roll off the truck here in Seattle sometime around mid-December. I got a fantastic trade-deal for the BRZ and Honda of Seattle made it a ridiculously easy experience. Here's hoping it goes to another passionate enthusiast!

I needed something that could pull a bit of double duty (four doors, adaptive dampers, a bit more cargo room, etc.) for this next chapter of life. The CTR also excels at having a sort of split personality depending how you are driving it, and in which mode. I've loved the CTR since it arrived here in the states and have never been able to get it out of my head. Go figure.

I absolutely can't wait. It's a total weapon. I'll still be hanging around these forums though since I love this community and these cars Maybe someday I'll pick up a new-gen BRZ for a track-only car.

Congrats!

Don't forget to post a BRZ v. CTR review once you've had a chance to get accustomed to your new CTR

Do you mind asking did you get it for MSRP or under?

I will definitely do that. Somewhat odd cars to compare given FF vs FR, turbo vs na, hatch vs coupe, etc. But I have to imagine enough people go from one to the other for it to be valuable.

Impossible to get below MSRP on the west coast. Not happening. Seems really easy to get a good deal in the east but over here markup is very much still alive. I got a decent deal though

Another reason I am looking hard at the Veloster N and the 2020's before the stupid price hike of the MY21. If you could find a reasonable deal on the type R I would consider it but it's just to much $$$ for my budget

The Veloster N I looked at was priced at $40,XXX at Hyundai of Seattle. Same story. Easy to get sticker elsewhere however. My guess is that it will drop off once more '21s arrive. FWIW, the price hike is in part because they dropped the non-PP model and upgraded seats, among other things. To me the MSRP is totally fair for what that car delivers. The interior is way nicer than reviewers would have you believe.

That car sure looks (and sounds) like a riot. But I had my heart set on the CTR despite the boring soundtrack. Oh, I got mine in white. As much as I wanted to do something less common, it just really feels right for this car.

It was a tough call between CW and the Sonic Grey Pearl. It's so much easier to find a white one, and will probably be more desirable one day when if/when I sell the car. Plus, heritage

I'm taking the final pieces off the BRZ in the next few weeks. Shoot me a PM if you're interested in any of the items below:

- Jackson Racing track oil cooler
- Perrin steering rack mounts
- Crystal Black Pearl mirror caps (same as tS trim)
- Perrin 2.5" resonated catback (10k miles)
- JDM clear sidemarkers w/ white bulbs
- STi shift knob (same as tS trim)

That would be a side grade imo. Is this a more DD?
