Comparing a mass market SC for something like the Solara and then saying GT86 sales are poor isn't a fair comparison.
More people are likely to buy a SC for the GT86 than a Solara. More people are also likely to buy the GT86 itself if Toyota provided SC options. I can understand if Toyota are hesitant to put an SC if its gets panned by enthusiasts and people are saying the car feels bad. But there are already so many SCs on the market and the reception has been great. Arent most of TRD USA stuff just rebranded products? Why not just get one of the existing SCs and support it officially as TRD. |

As explained in previous threads it is for sponsored racing teams, nobody actually paid $26k for them.
Edit: You could buy one for $5k: http://www.kenstoutracing.com/live/i...-superchargers Mr. Stout is claiming only 4 exist. |

The Solara also wasn't 12.5:1 c/r, or the first run of that engine, or an engine built by a different company.
I'm not shocked they didn't build a supercharger for it, I wouldn't either for the first generation has been out to see how they fare in the real world.
