Well, I had to look that up. I'm not one. However, I would be interested in knowing what happened to you, if you feel like sharing -

Nothing exciting nor of any interest ...... just sort of a minor airplane version of my 4 month FRS valve spring/engine replacement saga. Just got the plane back from being worked on for six weeks, grounded during prime flying time, and it's now got some new squawks that still have me grounded. Wanted some troubleshooting advice.

It's kind of hard to give troubleshooting advice if we don't know what the squawks are. What system(s) are squawking?

UGH! That's not good - one could cause fuel starvation the other could give you a false reading on your air speed.

So, one should get to the root of the problem and solve it.

Reminds me of the time I was about to get on this POS, twin engine turboprop that the company I worked for owned. A woman I worked with was a passenger also and was scared to death of flying in small planes.

As we were boarding she pointed out that something was leaking out of one of the wings. I reassured her that I would check it out. I pointed it out to the pilot (an old, retired AF pilot). He said that it was just jet fuel dripping out of one of the wing tanks - and not to worry, it would take a blowtorch to ignite it.

I told my co-worker that it was just water and it would be OK. I then settled back for the flight from Yuma, AZ to Tacoma, WA, with a bottle of vodka and a jar of bloody Mary mix.

We did not crash.

Oh, back to your squawks, here you go - got to get rid of the gritters -

The airplane is back safe and sound in it's sheltered hangar, so no critter issues. It's the damage the @#$@#$ critters did while the airplane was parked outside at my A&P's airport for six weeks that I'm now dealing with. Grrrrr..... The flight home was short and uneventful, but no airspeed indicator (no biggie... severe clear the whole flight, and I have a backup in addition to Mark IV Eyeballs and P8000GT Ears) and a possible fuel vent blockage in one tank (hissing when fuel cap released).

No that would warrant a stickied thread! That should not be kept secret.

This is going to sound like fiction, but our local grocery chain, "Tops," actually has that sale several times a year. I have fifteen pounds of bacon in my freezer as we speak.... and my wife and I don't really eat much meat. However... how can you say no?

Airframe and Powerplant. IA = Inspector Airplane I am neither, sorry. I love tinkering but I chose the life of seeing the world 5 minutes at a time.
