does help. Plus, escort also has a "live" thing that users can report to as well.
Also, I keep getting emails from escort that says they'll pay for your ticket if you get one (fine print in there too of course, but I read it and it seemed reasonable). FWIW, I've got an 8500 x50. I don't really speed very often, but I figure if it saves me once its worth it. (it has lol, a few times now) |

Go to rdforum.org . They are absolutely the best resource for researching what you want to get. Read Vortex's reviews, he has YouTube reviews as well, and does field tests as well that are really very objective, and tested against the most modern equipment the police have.
If you skimp too much you're going to pay for it or hear nothing but endless false alarms from traffic sensors on new cars with blind spot detection. Uniden currently has the hands-down best bang for your buck radar/laser detectors. There are better/more expernsive units like Radenso, Escort Redline, and Valentine. You're realistically going to have to use waze as well if they're using laser as well. My old Escort 8500x50 served me reliably for years but the constant falsing got to be way too much. Most of the new Escort Max/Max360 models and beyond are overpriced garbage compared to Valentine 1, Radenso, Uniden, and Escort's Redline model. |
