RomRaider Tuning for New Injectors
So I'm looking to do bigger injectors and fuel pump. I want to run Flex Fuel in the future. Nothing insane. So I'm looking at DeatschWerks 700cc Injectors and DW65C fuel pump.
Now I know I need a tune, and I plan currently on getting an E Tune from Shiv BUT just in-case I need to do something in the time being I want to understand what the whole process requires. I'd be using an OTS Stage 1 91octane A00C tune as my base. To my understandingI can take these tables and values and punch them into these tables and I should be good to go? Now I notice that Injector Flow Constant is 222.32 by default but the 700cc table shows 80.35. Commonsense tells me I would change 222.32 to 80.35 because I am adjusting everything else for the new injectors, but wouldn't that mean that I would be running at a lower cc/min? Thus causing fuel starvation? So would it be harmful to leave the 222.32 value since that's what the stock injectors are doing? Also what should I do with these values? and these values Again I understand I probably shouldn't do this myself, but I'd like to learn how this all goes together. |

Why are you running bigger injectors on a stage 1 tune?
The flow values should be higher, not lower. Oddly the rest look like they are directly applicable.

I have an injector about to die, and I figured I'd take the opportunity to get bigger ones. I would do a higher stage tune, but I don't have headers. Just fatback.

The honest answer is that you should need to put 700cc into the BRZ injector scaling parameter, however I would expect this to be a bit lower based on what I've read. The best way is to run largely PI and see what fuel trims you're getting and adjust as necessary.

With that being said, I would put the 450cc injector flow scaling into the Injector Flow Scaling BRZ table.(by default reads 228.05) Does that mean the BRZ table is PI and the regular Injector Scaling Table is DI? |

As far as what is suitable, OEM sizing is fine. You only really need to consider larger if you're planning on bigger power FI so yyou aren't buying twice.

The Oem size injectors(PI+DI) is good for around 300hp . Not sure on your setup but 450 should be GTG.. Port Injector Scaling The PI injector size in cc/min. Change this value when larger Port Injectors have been fitted so the ECU can accurately calculate the PI open time required to deliver a requested volume of fuel. Also ensure that you change the Injector Opening Time Compensation map as per the injector manufacturer specifications. |
