Did you notice all the VSC interference? I find it annoying al hell.

I really wish I still had the pictures from the time we got 36" of snow. The only visible part of the FRS was the very tip of the right door mirror.

The first snow of the season is always so beautiful…
By March we have another name for it…

We just got back from California. We got a nasty gram from Cal Fire about how my place at Eagle Lake was breaking several laws with pine needles, grass, dead tree, etc.. We did a 6 day work trip. We hauled over 800 pounds of pine needles, pine cones, etc. to the dump.

Super tired. 446 miles each way.

I'm making a beef stew in my new dutch oven for the first time tonight. None of the three different grocery stores I visited had single bottles of Guinness so I decided to try using a hefeweizen because it's all I had at home. Wish me luck, bois.

I've made stew before but usually just in those electric slow cooker things. This is my attempt to try a higher level of cooking where you cook everything in the same pot, get the fond and caramelize the mire poix with it, and then let it cook the rest of the way in the oven.

Oh yea, Bass Hill landfill is 40 miles away, straight up and down Eagle summit on lassen county road A1. If I wasn't driving, I was weed wacking, raking, bagging. Everything hurts. Sometimes owning a vacation house sucks.

No celery? It breaks down.

Most times I use a mire poix, I use twice what the recipe calls for, and brown WAY longer than recipe says.

Exact measurements only matter when baking.

Agree, exact measurements in stew is blasphemy.
