Duraflex hood? Garbage like the rest?

I'm looking to get a new hood for my car to change up the aesthetic but the problem is I want a vented hood kind of thing and there's carbon fiber ones yes, but my only issue is my frs is asphalt. So it's very dark grey about the same as carbon fiber so you would probably not be able to tell the difference from a distance. I saw duraflex makes a hood the same style for about 400 bucks in fiberglass which I can just re spray. The only issue is I know about duraflex and I have heard really bad things about them. Has anyone else gotten a duraflex hood for their 86?

I'd honestly go for these in your case.

If you want a Varis hood like the CF one you posted above, I can help you.

Alternatively, check out the trackspec vents.

Help me how? Do you know of somewhere to get a hood that style that isn't carbon fiber?

The one in the picture I posted is a stock hood with drop-in vents.

I just love that flow of integrated vents in the hood. But I can't justify spending 1,000 dollars on a carbon fiber hood that you could barely see.

Keep in mind the factory hood is going to be lighter than even most carbon fiber hoods.

Beyond that, Duraflex is a brand name and they're simply knock-offs of everyone else. Quality (or lack there of) shows pretty well in the photos they have...

Yeah Ive heard about duraflex and I know they're pretty trash I was hoping someone on the forum had bought the hood on the off chance that it isn't garbage

Are you buying it just for looks or function? I like the way my carbon hood blends into my grey BRZ - saved me from painting it.
