so instead of smoking, a bad-ish habit i got into in high school (after chewing through all my pens), was chewing on peppermint starlight mints whenever i get bored, or after meals.

so today, had dinner at my brothers house with family and his in-law's. after dinner, i popped a mint like i normally do.

my 5 year old nephew runs up to me to play, and exclaims "uncle you smell like toothpaste!"

i guess it's better than smoking.

There are far worse things to smell like.

One time when I was in Japan with my parents one of my little cousins told my mom that, "Americans smell like beef." My dad got so self conscious every since then, if you make a comment on him eating beef he will without fail say, "I don't eat that much beef."

I have a dishwasher in my new place. The problem I'm having is that the top shelf doesn't do well at all at holding drinking glasses upright, they fall down to their side fairly easily. I'm not sure if it's because the shelf is old and maybe the prong things have been bent or what.

So I've been googling to see if there's something I can fix and all the results I see are either:

1. "How to properly load a dishwasher because you're doing it wrong!"
2. "Is it safe to put eyeglasses in the dishwasher?"

Yes, apparently people try to put their eyeglasses in the dishwasher...

Anyway, no result on what I'm actually looking for. I'm wondering if maybe I need to buy new shelves .

Dishwashers are very useful for cleaning a lot of things.

As long as you put them in a container that will hold them in place, and don't use dishwasher detergent, I don't see why you couldn't put eyeglasses in one.

I used to use one to clean keyboards back in the day when a keyboard was worth cleaning rather than just tossing. You just had to make sure they were dry before plugging in.

That's crazy. I've had the glue stuff that holds lenses in place basically start melting/getting slippery from heat, so they slide out of place and then you can see the edges are all bubbly-looking from the adhesive stuff. Can't imagine that holding in a hot dishwasher cycle.

That would be a critical step. It's been a long time since I've seen one that doesn't let you skip the drying cycle. Usually, dishwashers only heat to about 130F so I supposed it could be a problem if they are heat sensitive (glasses). Other than sunglasses I don't wear eyeglasses so not an expert.

I scrolled too hard and scroll wheel on my mouse now has zero resistance. Something fell off in there I can hear it rattling around

That's some pretty intense scrolling, and I haven't even seen any NSFW gifs or memes in those threads lately.

I have been researching pretty intensely.

On another note, meet with my uncle on Wed morning to sign off on my new place and give him a down payment. I also spent part of this morning paying every bit of debt I have off. Feels good to own everything I have free and clear.
