Today I learned that people who make a career dealing with bureaucratic nonsense greatly desire methods to more efficiently complete said nonsense, but will balk at any method that eliminates the need for it.

Today I learned that when a shop uses a socket slightly too big, along with an air wrench, to over tighten and distort your lug nuts to the point that the proper wrench will no longer fit on the nuts, you are screwed.

I don’t even take my car in to get the tires changed. I just drop off the wheels anymore. Those guys trust torque sticks way too much.

To undo them, simply use the next size larger on the lug wrench, add a 18" water pipe extension to each side of the lug wrench, take up the slack and jump on the left handle.

I don't have one of those, just 7/8 socket. I have a new set of lugs coming tomorrow, so I'll deal with swapping them out this weekend.

I have a slightly more modern one, but I don't think that's an option. The "chrome" piece that covers the face of the aluminum rim is plastic.
