Went back to NCM after off-season addition of E85, vented hood and splitter endplates.

Reset PB to 2:18.68. I had a goal of trying to crack into the 17s. Which I think was possible, but the morning was completely soaking wet. Thankfully it dried out for 2 dry sessions in the afternoon. Due to the whole front coming on through we had strong ~15-20 mph gusts of wind that were blowing due north. This was basically a tail wind into T5 and T16, the fastest high speed corners. While I don't think T5 impacted me much - and I simply just underdrove that section, T16 there were laps where the car would become incredibly unstable at the peak. Was hard to try and be consistent and carry any speed through there.

Attended the Shelby Club Spring 2021 event at Thunderhill 3 mile.

I’m finally getting really comfortable with the car and tried chasing this GT350 as hard as I could. Currently 2 degrees of camber, going to aim for 3 degrees for next time as my front right tire got really bad wear on the outside.

That track looks like a blast! I'll be doing a SpeedSF event there this summer, really looking forward to it.
Is your car forced induction? I'm surprised the GT350 didn't pull away from you more on the straights.
Also, I question the wisdom of listening to music during a hot lap...I recommend all of your senses be fully engaged while tracking your car. If you know Ross Bentley, he talks about sensory input exercises for each sense. For example, spend part of your session trying to absorb as much visual detail as you can (color of corner worker's shirts, numbers of the cars on track with you, tufts of grass, anomalies on the track surface, etc.) Next, do the same with your hearing: engine note, sound of the tires on the track surface, tranny sounds, sounds of other cars, sound of the wind. Do the same for seat of your pants, then your hands on the wheel, then your sense of smell.
The more nuanced and detailed feedback you get from your senses, the better driver you will be.

I think the GT350 driver was inexperienced and would get on the gas late as my only engine mods are air filter and an OFT stage 1 tune on 91 octane.

I do agree on music being a distraction most of the time, but this was my final (6th) run and I just wanted to listen to the live Afrojack set as all the songs he was playing referenced driving in some way haha.

I do strongly agree though that we need all of our senses to drive as best as we can. I've driven on this track in pouring rain which warranted our windows being up, but by doing this all I could hear were the windshield wipers going back and forth and spun out as a result.

Some fun on the track.TRack temps were low 40s all day. Racing a Cooper S, I hit 3rd (twice) instead of 5th down the straight but still got him on the exit cos he went wide. Friends wanted me to let him get by and then pass him but I went for the shame job and did a lap extra to catch up. When he saw me in his mirrors he drove the mini really hard.

The guy in the Cooper S wanted a rematch, so we went out in the fast group.Plus some 265 tired Twins. Poor video it`s my dashcam sorry

.
People don't realize how just a good tune, etc wakes these cars up. I’m running just JDL 421 and had Zach tune it on a dyno and the car is amazing. I’m not even gonna go FI now.

Track: Shannonville Motorsports Park, Ontario Canada
Car: 2019 BRZ PP
Mods: Converted to a tS with STi pink springs, draw stiffeners, and flexible strut tower bars. Bilstein B6. Front 22mm Perrin sway bar. Front SPC Camber bolts. Stoptech Sport 309 pads. ATE Typ200 brake fluid. Motul Gear 300 fluid in tranny and diff. Mobil1 0W-30 in engine. Jackson Racing Track oil cooler. Blitz drop-in air filter. 225/45R17 Falken RT660 on 17x8" Enkei TS-10.
Notes/Comments: My second time on this track so I'm still a noob. Reached my optimal time of 2:08 as indicated by Racechrono so I'm happy, though most twins can easily do 2:06 and the experts can do 2:02-2:03. I'm told that I need to do a later entry for most of the turns so that's something I need to work on. I'm more of an Autocross guy anyways - don't have enough seat time or big enough balls to do well on tracks.

Track: Grattan Raceway (MI)
Car: 14 BRZ
Mods: 17x8 Konig Flowforms with 225/45R17 Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3+ all season tires. Hawk HP+ Sport/Track pads with Stoptech 600F brake fluid. NVIDIA cat back, high flow 2nd cat and overpipe. Camber bolts. About -1deg camber all around.
Notes/Comments: Tires are quite old, with ~6 track days, ~6autoxs, ~1year daily driving. Running 38psi hot to even out tire wear and maximize tire life. Times seem to be in the 1:35-1:36 range. Was taking it easy in most of the brake zones, trying to maximize tire life, and not fully sending it over the jump.

Track: Waterford Hills (MI)
Car: 14 BRZ
Mods: 17x8 Konig Flowforms with 225/45R17 Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3+ all season tires. Hawk HP+ Sport/Track pads with Stoptech 600F brake fluid. NVIDIA cat back, high flow 2nd cat and overpipe. Camber bolts. About -1deg camber all around.
Notes/Comments: Running in the 1:23-1:24 range I think. Ran a 1:22 last year on the same tires, but would get lots of tire rub, so decided to keep midcorner speeds lower in T1 and any other compression areas to maximize tire life.

Track: Motorsport Ranch Cresson 1.7ccw
Car: 2014 FRS
Mods: SCCA STX Autox prep - Nitron R1, Karcepts Sway Bars, Header/OFT Tune, Stock brakes with Cobalt Friction pads, 245/17 Falken Rt660 on 17x9 Apex Arc8's
Lap: 1:23.89
Notes/Comments: Plenty of videos here of this track, but the track has been repaved twice this summer. First time for me on repave 2.0 and its grippy and fast. A few new bumps to note (big one in Little Bend) and added camber in Big Bend but otherwise relatively smooth.

Video: (sorry for bad SmartyCam white balance, still working on it)
