Can fog lights be added to 2017 Toyota 86? (Canada)
I'm thinking I would like some fog lights for some extra visibility in the rain and snow and the pretty dark roads in parts of the city I live in. The issue is in Canada Toyota doesn't offer fog lights as an accessory for 2017, they come on the 860 although. I asked a local dealership if the 860 fog lights can be put in the regular 86 and they said no but I feel they actually had no idea as they suggested I go to an aftermarket shop.
I feel this is exactly what I need: http://www.ft86speedfactory.com/toyo...l#.WgcPx9BOlnE Although I'm not savy enough to know if there is a difference in wiring between the US and Canadian model of the 2017 86. I'm trying to do it OEM as possible and have Toyota do the install for warranty purposes. (It's also a consideration to drive to the US to have it done if that turns out to be cheaper) If anyone has any insight I would appreciate it since Toyota has been little help so far. (I attached the PDF I found which I'm fairly certain is legitimate for the kit I linked and I feel like my Toyota Dealer should be aware exists. I also attached a few photos of my car.) I can confirm that the kit you pictured is exactly what you need. Even before the refresh in 2017, all FR-S models did not come with the fog lights and needed to be added.
As per your pictures, you will be missing the button for the fog lights, but the kit will allow you to replace the panel to accommodate the additional switch/button. Once you get the kit, any good aftermarket shop or a reputable Toyota dealer will be able to easily install for you - it's all made for the car, so there will be no issues. Since you are in Canada like me, order from the Canadian version of the site ft86motorsports.com. You won't pay for any shipping fees, and prices are in CAD, so it works out cheaper. https://www.ft86motorsports.com/exte...t-2017-86.html Hope this helps!
