Figure eight racing

I didn't know there was such a thing until 5 minutes ago.
Interesting concept.

trailer racing is the epitome of figure 8 racing. the goal is to maintain your trailer, but knock off the competitors trailers:

the local track used to do a 'wreckfest' twice a year that finished with trailer racing. great redneck entertainment. at least until an 'upscale' subdivision got built directly behind the track and they incessantly complained about the track noise until they got it shut down a few years ago.

I thought that amusing for a few minutes. The track needs a bit a clean-up by the end.

I think they do those races with retired school buses too.

Only car racing I've actually seen in person was when my second cousin was racing figure-8. It was amusing, but also very strange.

Experienced that at Islip Speedway on Long Island, NY back in the early 70s. It is cringe worthy. I enjoyed the Modifieds which also ran there much more.

I hate that so much. People build condos next to airports, racetracks, gun ranges... then they complain about the noise. Like the shits been there for 50-100 years and now you chose to move next to it and you have a problem with it. Then people complain that there is nothing to do. Nobody drives the speed limit either, but then they hate it when people speed on their street... I guess the key to survival is to own the boundary lands so you can't get shoved out by developers and masses of people. The real shame is nobody is building more racetracks or airports anywhere really... once they are gone they are gone forever. And then they will probably build condos on top of that too. Just wait until we have open borders and a billion Chinese show up. The party is over.

People can't help but attempt to try to control what everyone else is doing, by their own specific standard.
