Need help for a FULL JL AUDIO upgrade

Hello, i have a 15 brz limited and i would love to upgrade the music in my car so far i have a jl audio lc8i and jl audio hd/600/4. I only have these parts from a previous car that i never installed in. Im not understanding the setup on the brz being passive or active and layout of sound. I would love some help on replacing ALL 8 speakers being replaced with some jl audios maybe the C5-653 or any C5 line. Thanks in advance. Also i would love to leave factory headunit being that i have the Lc8 already.

Ok.
Sounds like you should just go to any car audio shop and have them install it.
I would recommend going to a JL authorized shop. That way you can buy what ever JL speakers you want.

the lc8i is made by audiocontrol, not jl. to maintain jl purity, you would require either the FiX-82, or FiX-86. the FiX-86 offers similar outputs as the audiocontrol, while far exceeding the capabilities of it as well..

the cars system is a fullrange, 4 channel, speaker level system, and the door speakers imitate subwoofers with a supplemental amplifier fed from the front channel speaker lines that has it's own built-in crossover.

to amplify all of the speakers, you would require 6 channels of amplification. i would highly recommend abandoning the rear speakers and bi-amping the front doors/dash speakers with a 4 channel amp.

we don't have ears in the back of our head and actually pick up more 'sound' from below.

low frequencies aren't point source but one needs to keep the uppers closer as close together as possible and crossed properly with the characteristics of the speakers.

I actually throw a rag over the drivers dash speaker for some homey comb filtering. move your head an inch in these cars and you pick up a different spectrum off the inverted reflections. waves add and subtract poorly in cars.

Thanks for the input guys, im going to do the install myself. Seems like you guys would get rid of the rear all together. So im thinking of doing the c5-653 that comes with 3 sets of speakers which in theory should cover my whole front stge door and dash. Seems right to you guys?

excellent choice. I have the 5.25 in the c5 range. the cross over supplied was/is adjustable if you don't go the bi-amp (or tri-amp) route.

In what way did you offer any advice besides giving a asshole response?

The part where you go to an authorized JL Audio vender/installer.

Did you say you where going to do it yourself? Nope.

Thus my mind reading abilities lead me to the conclusion you know jack shit about car audio, even more that your google-fu is non existent.

I still recommend you to your local car audio shop.
You can see and hear the demos and even bounce around ideas.

If you like what you hear and see, you can buy it and still do the install yourself.

But then again it's all for the 'gram pics am I right?

Lol jack shit, wow you brought me back to junior high with that one, you seem angry you might need a hug. Listing my experience in anything i do to you on what i do doesnt really matter. This is a “forum” of questions answers and advice not ****heads who answer topics with sarcasm because they have no life and are bored in their parents basement waiting for milk and cookies. Be nice and helpful or fuk off.

If I can add my two cents’ worth of comments: Back in November, I swapped out the factory amp and the eight speakers in my 86. I used an AudioControl LC7i to send the audio signals to two Kenwood amps (one is a mono amp for my 12-inch sub in a ported box, while the other is a four-channel amp) and some JBL aftermarket speakers. My writeup can be found here: https://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=137706

Let me know if you have any questions. Good luck!
