SRP Racing Pedals for non-slip footing and better heel & toe...

Installation notes for dead panel:

[a] removing dead pedal is a PITA. Pop out the large circles first, they are actually push-in connectors (like bumper connectors). I used a pick.
[b] cut along underside of all four edges with razor blade or exacto blade. Take you time, go slowly, separate the glue from the oem pedal. You will lose a little carpet but that's fine, it will be hidden.
[c] You will end up with the OEM hole on the carpet, plus whatever extra you cut away in the removal process. This hole should be smaller than your new dead pedal. Under this is a small wedge of Styrofoam that will absolutely get in your way and will complicate drilling the new holes. I recommend tossing it, your choice.
[d] Depending on how much the appearance matters to you, you can cover the carpet hole with some wide black tape (I had Gorilla tape handy).

[e] mark new hole locations and drill in two increments, start with a small bit such as 1/16" per SRP instructions. Then go up to your larger size. I used a 9/64" final size after measuring the screws provided by SRP.

[f] Clutch and brake pedal covers come with inexplicably long bolts and jam nuts. You may need to shorten one or more of the bolts to clear the arm of the pedal. 5/8" length on the bolts was plenty for clutch and brake covers.

[g] optional: I sourced some 3/4" black screws in a compatible diameter from my local hardware store ( yes they stock black machine screws, who knew) because the screws furnished by SRP felt really short ( 1/2") and i wanted more screws and more grabbing threads, especially on the gas pedal. The 3/4" screws gave more confidence than the shorties provided by SRP.

Well...... I took two pieces that previously existed and made something new that didn't previously exist. Call it what you want, the label is inconsequential as far as I'm concerned. On the other hand, creating something from other parts with my own two hands that I see/use every day I get in the car and that only I have is infinitely rewarding.....for me anyway, your results may vary.

I am thinking about starting.

When I take the granddaughters to school and back, there is this soccer mom it a PT Cruiser that keeps beating me to the best spots in the pickup/drop off zone.......so, I may start with some power and suspension mods.

Yep, I was thinking that I would stay NA ..... no "blower", cause it would stand too high.

I figure to port & polish the intake manifold and heads; a high lift cam; mill the heads; electronic ignition; headers; cherry bomb mufflers; dual 4 barrel Holley carbs.

Also, a 4 speed close ratio transmission; beefed up clutch; 4:11 rear end and traction masters for the rear springs.

Now, THAT should allow me to blow that PT Cruiser right out of the parking lot ......

Can't put high lift cams in without new pistons. Do some research for once
