I also have these on, and I love the extra LED turn signal functionality! I did have some condensation in the plastic bars after a month, but it doesnt affect anything. However, I reached out to FTSpeed and they sent me new ones without issue. Now ive got the other pair just sitting in a box.

Anyone - Make an offer and its yours, they still work and look great!!

I definitely googled it out of curiosity lol

I'll be twice as excited when my headlight plugs get here so I can make a small plug and play harness. Did you just tap the headlight harness?

I would wager you're right! I wish I had stopped to ask. There were a bunch of Harleys making themselves a nuisance in the garage at that time so I snapped a photo and kept walking.

Hit something on the highway that was kicked up by the car in front of me.

PPF did its job but it's now beyond repair.

Went for a drive, did not crash.

I specifically went looking for the torque dip cuz i wanted to see what it felt like and to be honest...i didnt notice it AT ALL. Driving normally within speed limits and not gunning it off the line i never thought the torque dip will ever present itself in any significance so when i did some cruising, then dropping a few gears to get into torque dip area and pressed the gas....there was a good amount of pull. Accelerated from a stop and redlined it shifting up till i got to third...didnt notice it. Didnt feel any kind of drop in power where the dip would be.....nothing.

I can't feel the dip but i can feel stronger pull in the 5-6k range to redline....

I even had the info graph up so i can see that i am in the torque dip area, and when i pressed the gas....there was noticeable pull. I was actually kind of expecting the dip to feel like pressing the gas while one gear too high...but I guess ill never know or even care now.

Maybe the final drive change in 2017 helped hide alot of it compared to pre-facelift (i dont know i never drove a pre-facelift car beyond a test drive ages ago) Perhaps its just in my nature to drop one or 2 gears if i feel the car isnt moving regardless of what gear im in (driving mostly torqueless wonder machines would make you do that)

If the only way i can notice it is if im in 5th or 6th going up a hill? why would i do that? If Im going up a hill, im dropping down to whatever gear gives me pulling power.

OH and i wanted to test the carplay feature in the head unit (cuz i never used it before) so i did

that's the 'dip'...

a smooth torque curve will build consistently, and won't have a noticeable difference in power between rpm's.

It really isn't hugely noticable 90% of the time.
Lower speed second gear corners, especially if you are on a incline are most noticeable to me. Beyond that you can generally always downshift into the engines sweet spot.

Took it to a local shop with a dyno to see what I'd get for stock numbers. No surprises here, really; right about where I've seen stock cars land, torque dip alive and well.

Got some modding on the horizon, so we'll see where it ends up from this baseline.

My Scion im pulled noticeably harder over 3k rpm since it was approaching peak torque (somewhere around 4k rpm). It pulled consistently to redline.

This FA20 powerband feels pretty flat to me and pulls harder at the upper end since thats where peak power is. I dont feel the power "die away" in the midrange like so many describe it. It ultimately just kind of feels like a weaksauce vtec/VVTLi, although those were much more on/off in its power delivery.

From all the crap about torque dip ive read over the years I was expecting it to be much more obvious/much more prominent than it really is.

It is a 10% drop for a fraction of a second if upshifting. Can you notice it if you try real hard? Sure but it is not the dead stop of acceleration so many make it out to be.
It also isn't quite as noticable on the 17+ car since the changed final drive means you go through it faster anyway.
