Damaged my apr splitter

Hit a speed bump and damaged my splitter. Anybody have an idea on how I should go about fixing this?

The splitter itself is ok except for the clear coat. I need a new rod and the rubber seal that goes on the front. Could a body shop fix the clearcoat?

If you're sure that only the clearcoat is damaged then yes a body shop could probably fix it. Contact APR to get replacement parts for the other stuff.
Next time slow down and avoid the bumps, the girl might be legal age by the time you get there.

Take the splitter off for street use. Its a functional aero item for track only. You will likely need to replace it, unless body shop can cut it and reclear but thats going to cost your probably $200

How do I know for sure the splitter isn't damaged? If you take the rubber off the splitter is ok. And I don't see anything cracked underneath. So my best guess it's only the clear coat. It appears that the impact was mostly absorbed by the rod.

The speedfactory one is ok but it doesn't look good in my opinion. You have to consider my car is lowered.

I know with carbon fiber bicycles you can do a tap test and "listen" to the integrity of the piece. Basically, take a coin and tap the area around the damage. A dead, flat sound means it's broken, where as a more resonant, ringing sound means the structure is intact.

My guess is the carbon fiber is damaged at the connection point, and will probably need to be patched up or (lazy, maybe cheaper solution) have a metal plate or something installed for the rod to connect to.

Switch to cables, instead of stay rods, to allow the splitter to move up when it makes contact, but it still holds it up from aero loads.

As for repair...you could try just having it clear coated, which may help cosmetically. Structurally, I'd say you'd have to cut out a pocket, install a new hard point, and relaminate...won't be as pretty then though. A good composite shop could do it for you.
