I saw your guide for your audio installation. Did you have to drill holes into the door?

I am kind of thinking a location where it doesn't have to move alot, like inside the vehicle rather than on the door itself.

Thanks.

Not sure how much room is in the dash, what about behind the passenger dash panel? Under the dash speakers? Under front seats? Just some thoughts.

On my WRX, I did pretty much what Brian posted, but used existing wiring to the xovers so I didn't have to fish anything through the doors (tweets on the doors, too).

Id put them in the trunk and run a fresh run to the mid and tweeter. Then, if you ever go active, the hard work is done.

Plus its easy to get to any jumpers the xovers have, since you need the door panels on to tune correctly.

I tend to tuck them away under the dash compartment right above the footwell. If you're using the stock tweeter/woofer placement this would make running all the wires pretty simple.

However, if you move the tweeter to the door panel then I would put them behind the door panel (do not put them in the actual door behind the plastic).

I have mine tucked in the kick panels. I like to change things up a bit every now and then so I need access and didnt want to take the door panel off.

I just finished my install and the wires to the doors are some of the more difficult I've worked with. In order to run the wire thru the grommet it requires removing the tape holding the two boots together then snaking the wire past the bottom of the top boot, cutting a hole for the wire to poke thru the bottom boot before reinstalling the top boot and re-taping it. Sounds confusing but if you attempt this it'll probably make more sense... Not to mention it took me FOREVER to reattach the boot to the car, but it was worth it!

I decided to go with the alpine type R's partially due to the very small crossovers, about 1" by 1" by 2", but in the end I ran them active and didn't use them. Either way I am very pleased with the sound and would recommend either set-up, active or passive.

Any pictures how you did this? Do you mean the existing kick panel in the car? It is big enough to hide the crossover?
