Thanks.

I know how to properly wash a car. I also wax every 3 months, and clay every 6 months. Clean supplies all the time.

My clear coat peeled in a small spot on my door, and there are a lot of rock chips on my front bumper.

It's inevitable that a car will get scratched when you wash it which is why people polish every now and then, but I don't want to mess with (or buy) the rotary machine.

Owned a 2004 wrx which was made in Gunma and it had crap paint quality. WRB looks great but believe me it chips easily.

Not subarus fault, more of an EPA issue with the water-based paints.

for some reason Ford/Chevy always manage to have much better paint quality. Not sure why

It's too bad OEM's don't offer a "high-quality paint" option, for those who actually give a damn and plan to keep their car for longer than 5 years... Just don't tell the EPA lol

In general Subaru paint is thin, soft, but somehow brittle at the same time. Plus side is their "pearl" colors have a nice depth for 2-stage paint.

My 9 Month old 2011 World Rally Blue WRX has at least 4 or 5 significant chips on it already I even get small ones on the Side of the car.

My '06 STI when i got rid of it 8 months ago, had too many imperfections to count. The front bumper literally looked sandblasted.

For what it's worth i'm a neat freak with my cars. I wash them once or twice a week, wax 4 times a year. I also rarely rackup highway type mileage..so...

That Being said. I've heard Foresters and older Japanese made legacy's have less issues.

SO just because it's a subaru doesn't mean it WILL have bad paint..just the models that i buy..lol

Just lower your standards and you'll be happy..lol
