My 2 cents.

Anyone want to guess he has had his turbo or supercharger for less than a month, couldn't take it anymore, temporarily lost his mind and just had to test the limits. I am thinking this is going to be the situation with many on this board.

I am going to swear here, so mind my language, but fucking christ. No one should support this, it is a public road and NOT engineered/designed for that speed.

To add to this, our breaks are not capable of stopping the car fast enough on the stock tires. Many people complain about cooking their breaks on the track going much lower speeds. This is dumb.
Can a road be engineered to make up for distracted elderly retards? No more than going well above the speed limit. Your comment on our "breaks" (brakes) is "boarding on mental" in my opinion. Cooking the brakes on the track is entirely different as it is a repeated braking situation. I bet the guy doing 220 didn't go 220>60>150>90>130>60>220 over and over. Something tells me you've never been on a track.... Our brakes will certainly stop the car from 220>stop quite quickly when compared to many other vehicles.

While I don't support going 220 in heavy traffic, I completely understand where @mountainside is coming from.

I'll be the first to admit that it'd be fun. I wouldn't mind doing 300 in a Bugatti but I'd want to be doing it on a closed track. The last thing I need is for somebody texting to swerve into my lane when I'm going over twice the speed limit. :P

I like how everybody is quick to flame someone for doing something they don't agree with, as if they have never made a stupid decision in their life.

Ask yourselves the question

How many on here have not had the car to at least 160km/h ? That's classified as reckless driving in Ontario. Then you can judge others.

I took my car and motorcycle at high speeds before, but it was never maintained, just went as fast as I could and immediately slowed down, you know, just to see. I'm sure a lot of people does that.

I took some highway design courses in University. No highway is designed for more than 130km/h iirc. Those designs apply to the bends and the sight distances. Of course, those designs are meant to be safe for all the vehicles on the roads...

That said, as speeds like 220km/h, you could be over-driving your sight lines, breaking distances, and very very close to the limits of grip of your tires.

220km/h is 61.1m/s. Even moving your foot from gas to breaks (dangerous at this speed) would take maybe .5sec and you would have travelled more than 30m or 7 lengths of an 86. Scary shit

That's why you use your left foot to brake

A lot of professional racing drivers, especially in rallying, left foot brake with manual transmissions. We're talking about driving at speed in this thread, not braking for stop signs.
