it's one of those cars that just describing it to someone, they'd swear it's an unrealistic video game car with a matching unlicensed name to match...

which is what makes it so good!

For some reason it reminds me of no particular Batman movies. Kind of cyberpunkish.

I feel like there is no way this thing could corner faster than a BAC Mono.

Here is another competitor I found:

Did they just say it corners at 2g and launches at 1g with rwd and no actual aero?!? I call BS. Your tires have to be made of superglue, or on a banked corner, and then it's not even lateral G.

I say superglue tires...being it's running Nankang AR-1

Tires matter greatly for the performance of a vehicle...

100TW tire or not, I don't believe that until they post the data.

I do like the way it looks though, it is more finished looking then the other minimalist cars out there.

Not even Hoosier A7s (60TW) generate 2Gs on street legal cars. AR1s aren't as sticky.

Some engineer ran his mouth in front of the marketing department who took it out of context imho. Still a neat car.

The hilariousness of "Dankervoort" is offset by the stupidness of the awkwardly stiltedly alphanumeric not at all inspiring "D8 GTO-JD70" name.
very cool car tho

Maybe watch some videos if you don't believe the rediculousness of the Donkervoorts... they are racecars for the road, hypercar in everything but their top speed... they have aero and extremely light weight combined with highly tuned power plant and full adjustment of traction and brake systems... Lotus 7 absolutely pales in comparison:

Show us the data, not the video. I have already seen a bunch of those. Aero? From their own website only 130kg's worth, my car has more then that. Low weight helps but their number is optimistic.

To actually pull 2g lateral without significant downforce you need a friction coefficient of 2 or greater. That isn't really a thing with solids. I suppose you could make the case that the tire tread is semi-melted, but it still seems a bit fantastical. I don't doubt it is a blast to drive, just that throwing around ridiculous numbers is, well, ridiculous.
